Will Smith trolls the world with ‘official statement’ after Jada claimed they’re separated

Will Smith has posted an 'official statement' on Instagram after the revelations about him and Jada Pinkett-Smith

Will Smith has been trolling fans with a recent video in which he claims to have made an ‘official statement’.

An official statement on what? I hear you ask.

Have a look for yourself:

Smith and his wife – or is that ex-wife?Jada Pinkett Smith have been dealing with a lot of press attention at the minute, after Jada released her memoir Worthy and gave a press tour in which she made a number of big revelations.

Amongst them was the claim that she and Will had actually been separated for years, and that they hadn’t been living with each other for ages either.

In fact, she claimed they’d been living ‘completely separate lives’ for seven years now.

Smith had initially commented on the matter in a lateral fashion by posting a video of him enjoying a boat trip with the caption ‘notifications off’.

Here's that, if you want to see it:

Now, he’s done something a bit similar, but altogether more strange.

This time, he shared a video with the caption: “OFFICIAL STATEMENT.”

Ooh, what could this be, then?

As it turned out, in the video Smith could be seen sitting on a bed in front of a fire, before stating: "I got something for you, here's the thing. So my opinion of the..."

At that point, he lets out a sneeze and the camera pans back into some weird photographic effect of landscapes and constantly zooming nature.

Yep, we did tell you it was strange, right?

Anyway, he’s obviously having a bit of a joke at everyone’s expense, and fans have been loving it.

“Always good to zoom out and look at the big picture,” wrote one fan.

“This is the only correct opinion,” said another.

“I’ve been saying the same thing,” a third joked.

It seems that whilst Pinkett Smith and the Men in Black star might not have had an easy relationship in recent times – especially given everything that happened that night at the 2022 Oscars – Smith is at least trying to see the funny side.

He also wrote a letter to Pinkett Smith after she wrote her memoir, which was read out aloud on podcast On Purpose with Jay Shetty.

Will's official statement wasn't quite what you'd expect.

In that letter, Will said: “I applaud and honor [sic] you.

“If I had read this book 30 years ago, I definitely would’ve hugged you more.

“I’ll start now. Welcome to the Authors Club. I love you endlessly.

“Now go get some Merlot and take a rest.”

And Pinkett-Smith was clearly emotional after hearing that letter read out, calling it ‘beautiful’.

"That’s why I can’t divorce that joker." she said.

More on that front when we have it.
