Rockstar have confirmed the age rating of the upcoming GTA 6, after some women expressed concern about the game's content.
The new Grand Theft Auto game is one of the most hotly-anticipated games of the year, and is the first main game released in the franchise since 2013's Grand Theft Auto V.
And it wouldn't be a Grand Theft Auto game release without controversy about the game's content, with the series even previously being accused of glamorising crime.
This time however it's not so much the criminal underworld and violent aspects which have seen people worried, but some women taking to social media to voice concern about the game involving an optional relationship storyline.

Now, the game's age rating has been confirmed, and like many other games in the franchise it has been rated as 18.
But it's one particular part of why exactly the game was given that rating which may cause further consternation among people worried about their partners developing some sort of artificial relationship with the characters.

This is that the official age rating for Australia and New Zealand has confirmed that there will be sex scenes in the game.
A post by the X account @GTAVI_Countdown also put a side by side comparison with Grand Theft Auto 5, pointing out that this iteration of the game was also rated 18, but didn't have 'sex scenes' included in the reasons why.
Other aspects of the age rating listed include 'drug use' and 'high impact violence', as well as 'graphic violence', 'nudity', and 'offensive language'.
So it's definitely a Grand Theft Auto game then.
TikToker Shelby Haas, who goes by the handle @diaryofasalesgirl on social media, posted a video to her one million followers highlighting her concern about the relationship aspect of the game, as well as rumours that there is a nudist colony.
"In absolutely no human way is my fiancée playing GTA 6 after I just saw that you literally have to maintain a relationship with a girl in the video game and text her and she'll get mad if you don't text her back, and you have to take her on dates," she said.

She added: "Don't let your boyfriend, or fiancée or husband play GTA 6."
While some people responded by supporting her, other replied saying that they were planning to just play the game as well along with their partner.
Rockstar North has also spoken about the relationship mechanic in the game, explaining that it is an optional storyline that players can explore if they want to.
The developer's head of development and co-studio head Rob Nelson told IGN: "I have to say it feels great - if you are into it as a concept. Don’t bother with it if you aren’t. Up to you," he told the outlet.
He added: "The narrative is structured in such a way that the circumstances they find themselves in require them to stay together for most of the story and work together. At the very least they will get through most things as partners in crime."
