American YouTuber and streamer IShowSpeed is famous as an entertainment and gaming content creator, but what is his real name?

Also referred to as Speed or Speedy, IShowSpeed’s real name is Darren Watkins. He first launched a YouTube channel back in 2016 to create gaming content, however in 2021 his creations started to go viral. Speedy soon started gaining 1,000 subscribers a week, and clocked up 350 viewers on his livestreams.

By May of 2022, he has passed the 8 million subscriber mark. He regularly posts videos of him playing games, with an eccentric and hot headed playing style. IShowSpeed has also found success on TikTok where his OTT reactions regularly turn him into a meme.

One of the main games he plays is NBA 2K and Fortnite Battle Royale, and he consistently uploads content to keep subscribers happy. There’s an ongoing mystery about his age, and nobody seems to know exactly how old the creator is. He lives in Cinncinati, Ohio, and currently has 2.9 million Instagram followers, and 6.7 million TikTok followers.

He’s gained more than 26.5 million likes on his TikTok account despite only having seven videos on there. His most recent video in June shows him having a tattoo dedicated to footballer Messi, and it’s had 5.5 million likes, and is set to one of his own songs.

As well as gaming Speed also fancies himself as a musician and has released several songs so far including Shake (2021) and God Is Good as well as the catchily titled Bounce That A$$ (2021) and Dooty Booty (2021).

He’s made a name for himself by barking, roaring, or shouting at the camera as he plays, and videos of him reacting to his subscriber counter hitting a landmark figure regularly go viral. Speedy definitely isn’t shy.

He also has a second channel he posts under called Live Speedy.

He recently made headlines for setting off fireworks in his bedroom on the 4th July while on a livestream with KSI, thinking they wouldn’t light on fire but instead just be noisy.

Sparks emerged and he ran from the room, before the fire brigade attended.

It’s estimated that IShowSpeed has an impressive net worth of $500,000.
