Netflix comedian leaves live audience in shock after vow to fight three children

Forget 100 men and one gorilla, how about three kids vs one comedian?

A Netflix comedian has left audiences shocked, not for a controversial joke, but for his genuine claim that he was going to fight three children live on air.

The claim was made by John Mulaney in the latest episode of his Netflix live chat show John Mulaney Live.

The comedian, best known for his roles in Saturday Night Live, Spider-Man Into the Spider-Verse, and The Bear, made the vow in response to the internet’s biggest ongoing debate.

Could 100 Men take on one Gorilla in a fight?

The viral debate began with a simple tweet where someone said they thought that 100 people could easily beat up a Gorilla if they were ‘dedicated to the sh*t’.

Little did they know that this tweet would go on to be viewed 289 million views and would lead to an SNL star threatening to spark out some kids.

Whilst the debate was partially ended when an expert answered whether 100 men would have a chance against your average gorilla, that hasn’t stopped the debate raging on.

Mulaney revealed on Netflix that the discussion within the show’s writers’ room had led to a second, far more important debate.

Whether three 14-year-old boys could beat up John Mulaney.

He went on to say: “On our final episode of the season, May 28th, the theme will be Teen Night. We will be talking about many teen issues and I, John Mulaney, will square off in a very real fight against three 14-year-old boys.”

When addressing if it was legal he said: “So far we think so. It’s not assault and we’re vetting every step of it.”

He stated that it would not be a ‘fun, funny fight’ but instead would be him ‘fighting these children and them fighting me as hard as they can’.

Mulaney ended by encouraging anyone with ‘access to a 14-year-old boy’ who may want to scrap the former SNL comedian to have their parents contact him at [email protected].

Whilst he stated that Netflix legal wanted him to say US Citizens only, he wanted to ‘open this up to the entire world’.

As far as anyone can tell, this is a genuine promise from John Mulaney and, if you tune in to Netflix at the show’s usually scheduled time on May 28th, you will be met with the comedian likely getting pummelled by a posse of 14-year-olds.

One reply to Netflix’s tweet announcing it simply said: “I dont think this is a good idea John.”

Another asked the most important question of all, saying: “Can we do sports betting on the john mulaney vs 14 year old boys fight.”

If you ask me, if you're putting money on anything other than the 14-year-olds wiping the floor with him, you’re throwing away your money.

John Mulaney Live airs live on Netflix Thursdays at 3am BST (or you can just watch it the next day).
