As people threaten to scrap their subscriptions altogether, a Netflix user has shared a method they reckon reverses the latest update.
While the streamer is billing it as a ‘new TV experience’, complainers are instead slamming it as absolutely ‘diabolical’.
Netflix has promised the update will result in ‘better recommendations and an improved interface that highlights what matters most to you’.

And if anything, the layout certainly looks different, supposedly making the platform easier to navigate. The streaming service announced in May that it would have this new look rolled ‘out globally over the next few weeks’.
It seems that’s started as viewers are starting to notice changes. While it might not have hit every device yet, you can expect your Netflix to soon be different whether people are complaining or not.

Can I reverse the new Netflix layout?
Even if Netflix has promised that the whole thing is making the service better, not every user so far is happy.

And one person who is particularly p**sed claims to have found ‘a workaround’.
They recommend going to your account page ‘on a web browser’ before taking the following steps: “Go to security, scroll to bottom and click 'Feature testing' and turn off.”
Then, they say to go to your TV again, ‘access apps under your settings’, find Netflix and delete latest update. They say that if you then reboot your TV and open Netflix ‘this should return it to the old UI’.
While this might not necessarily work for everyone, another user has shared a way to still be able to see your ‘list’ as the layout arguably makes this trickier.
“This new @netflix layout is the worst app design I think I’ve ever seen and they paid someone hundreds of thousands to come up with it. Had to use the phone app just to look through my list. Cancelling this s**t in disgust,” they wrote.

‘Diabolical’ update from Netflix
So, as you may have guessed from all of that, some people really aren’t happy with the update.
It’s the layout that’s particularly different with the shortcuts to move to different pages are now at the top, with the tiles used to show stuff up bigger and taking up more of the screen. This supposedly means it’s easier to navigate.
Netflix also says the recommendations you’ll get will be more responsive to the kind of stuff you’re binging.

Plus, the streamer says you’ll get more information about each title before you decide to watch it, while you'll also get a ‘MyNetflix’ tab where your previously watched titles and shows you can continue watching will be found.
Users threaten to cancel
Whether it’s supposed to be easier or not, some users are absolutely ranting away about the new update online.
Sure, some might be perfectly happy and not feel the need to post their acceptance online but there’s a lot of the kind of ‘cancelled my subscription based on this redesign only’ comments going around.
“It might honestly be the most horrendous interface upgrade I have ever seen on a major streaming app. I might genuinely cancel my subscription over it,” another wrote.
