Netflix is currently in the middle of rolling out an update which is changing the way the streaming platform looks, and it's safe to say it has made a lot of people angry.
According to Netflix this is 'a new TV experience' and it's promising it'll result in 'better recommendations and an improved interface that highlights what matters most to you'.
However, there's been a plethora of complaints from people who've seen what these changes look like to the point that there have been some threats to cancel subscriptions.

On the other hand, Netflix viewers threaten to cancel their subscription over all sorts of things including price rises, the introduction of tiers containing adverts, the introduction of AI features and shows they want to stream taking longer to release than expected.
Now there's something else which has people threatening to walk away.

What's changed about Netflix?
This time it's the layout, as the shortcuts to hop to different pages on the platform are now at the top and it looks like the tiles used to show off each thing are bigger, taking up more of the screen.

According to Netflix this makes navigating the platform a little bit easier, while the company also says its recommendations for things you can watch will be more responsive to the kind of thing you're binging at the moment.
Netflix says you'll also get more information about each title before you start watching, while you'll also get a MyNetflix tab where your previously watched titles and shows you can continue watching will be found.

When is the Netflix update coming?
It's already here for plenty of people, as Netflix announced last month that it would have the updated look 'roll out globally over the next few weeks' with a starting point of 19 May.

There are some viewers who already realised things have changed on the streaming platform, and everyone else with a device 'eligible for the new TV experience' can expect to see things change for them very soon.
Even those who don't have an eligible device can expect the waves of change to wash over them at some point whether they like it or not, since Netflix says there are 'more devices set to be added as the roll-out continues'.
If your Netflix hasn't changed yet then rest assured it'll get round to you eventually.

How have people been reacting to the new Netflix update?
Given that we already told you there were people threatening to cancel their subscriptions over this you can probably guess that this update has been received about as well as a rampaging tiger at a christening.

Of course, it's entirely possible there are plenty of Netflix viewers who are basically fine with the changes and have nothing to say, whereas those with a negative opinion are going to shout it from the rooftops.
Nevertheless, there are people who've said they've 'cancelled my subscription based on this redesign only' and called it 'just awful'.
Others have said the title cards are 'TOO BIG for the display' and they wished there were 'more tiles in one view', with many more complaints about the user interface (UI).
However, someone else said Netflix had been testing this for a while and was probably 'getting better numbers for what ever metric they were testing for' if it is sticking with the change.
LADbible has contacted Netflix for comment.
