Netflix has officially released a new, full trailer for Stranger Things season 5 as the Hawkins crew reunite once more for the final battle against Vecna.
Just minutes after the long-awaited trailer for the final season of the hit show dropped on YouTube, fans have already raised their concerns over one particular omission.
The clip reveals that Vecna is back once again as the four main characters vow to find the humanoid and 'end this thing once and for all'.
Demogorgons appear to rip through the soldiers who've placed the residents of Hawkins into lockdown as Lucas holds onto Max, who is still in a comatose state in a hospital lift, as a ferocious Demo-dog races toward them.
Elsewhere, Eleven and David Hopper seem to be in their own battle within the Upside Down, and Mike watches over Joyce, who is overcome with worry about her son Will.
In the final moments of the trailer, Vecna can be seen levitating among a military base covered in flames and surrounded by dead soldiers, as he addresses an incapacitated Will, saying: "William, you're going to help me one last time."
Since the trailer dropped, however, fans have taken note of the absence of one character in particular, and they're not happy about it.
"The lack of Steve Harrington in this trailer concerns me," one worried fan commented, and many were quick to agree, as a second said: "Max and Steve ate their 1 second screentime."
Fortunately, Joe Keery's character, Harrington, has been confirmed as one of the cast members for the final season, despite some pretty tragic fan theories about how it might all end for him, as one person wrote: "If Dustin is crying over Steve... I SWEAR."
Meanwhile, others praised show makers for choosing Queen's Who Wants To Live Forever as the backing track to the dramatic trailer.
Netflix have dropped the trailer for the fifth and final season (Netflix) "Whoever picked 'Who Wants To live Forever' as the trailer music, give them a raise NOW. The chills," one person wrote, while another agreed: "I know right, it's the perfect song for this."
Meanwhile, show co-creator Ross Duffer told Netflix's Tudum that this series will add back a bit of the 'chaos' lost at the end of season 4.
He said: “We usually set up their normal life and how they’re going about school, and then we introduce the supernatural element. But in this case, this season is sprinting from the start.”
Meanwhile, co-creator Matt Duffer added that the gang is 'not experiencing normal life. Nothing in Hawkins is normal anymore', adding, “Their movement is restricted, and there are Big Brother cameras everywhere. So not only are they active — their everyday, normal lives are anything but.”
