Steve-O has revealed the ‘comical’ amount he was paid for the first season of Jackass.
Jackass burst onto our screens all the way back in 2000 and ran for three seasons as well as spawning six feature films, spin-off series and even a video game.
For those unfamiliar with the franchise, it saw the likes of Johnny Knoxville, Bam Margera, the late Ryan Dunn, and Steve-O taking on increasingly bizarre and extreme stunts.
But before the hit MTV show made household names of its daredevil cast Steve-O - real name Stephen Glover - was a struggling amateur stuntman and clown.

In a new interview with PlayBoy, Steve-O revealed that he was unemployed and homeless when Jackass was released.
But said once the show went out his life was ‘black-and-white, completely different overnight’.
However, despite fame arriving swiftly, Steve-O revealed that he had to wait a little longer for fortune.

He explained to the outlet that he didn’t receive a standard per-episode payment, he was paid for each part he filmed.
It’s comical how little I was paid for the first season of Jackass," he said.
“After five days of filming, I was all banged up, hungover, had been bitten by a shark, and I pulled out a piece of paper to write down what I felt really needed to be on the show. At the top I wrote ‘Goldfish,' and I thought, while I'm at it, I might as well put what I expect to be paid. Next to ‘Goldfish,' I literally wrote $200.”
For a shark bite that left him with a ‘little scar’, Steve-O said he was given $500.
“When it was all said and done, after taxes, I was paid less than $1,500 for the entire first season of Jackass,” Steve-O revealed.

“Before the show came out, my sister kicked me out of the house. I was broke, unemployed, and homeless, and a star on this big MTV show.”
“That's one of the first things I learned about fame: It comes a lot easier than fortune,” he added.
Now, after more than a quarter of a century, Steve-O and the rest of the gang are gearing up to say goodbye to Jackass forever.
The upcoming Jackass: Best and Last movie, set to be released on 26 June, will mark the end of franchise.
The movie features never before seen footage, that previously wasn’t allowed to air.
“I genuinely don't know why it's allowed now, but it's in here,” Steve-O added.
Sounds like one to watch.
