ITV2’s Love Island is back, which can mean only one thing, summer is officially here!
A group of 11 hot new singles entered the villa earlier this week, including 23 year-old Tasha Ghouri, the first ever deaf contestant to star on the show.
Tasha is popular within the villa and has already found a huge amount of support on Twitter from fans of the show, praising her for being so open about her disability, or as Tasha calls it, her ‘superpower’.

Who Is Tasha Ghouri?
Tasha Ghouri is a model and dancer from Thirsk in north Yorkshire, and is no stranger to the limelight. She made headlines last year after she modelled for fashion brand Asos, showcasing a pair of their earrings in which her Cochlear Implant was visible, the positivity and inclusivity was praised by people online.
Ghouri was born completely deaf, and had her Cochlear Implant fitted at the age of five. She is described by her family and friends as “inspirational” and says “I inspire quite a lot of people because I’m really open about it”, and we completely agree!

It also appears that the dancer is no stranger to the celebrity dating scene, with reports claiming that she secretly dated Strictly Come Dancing pro Giovanni Pernice just a few months before joining the ITV hit reality show.

It’s no secret to anyone that Love Islander’s amass hundreds of thousands of hooked followers and fans every series, and this year is no different. Tasha was the most followed islander before she even entered the villa, with 21k followers.

Just three days into the show, the blonde beauty has gained 64,000 more followers amounting to a total of 85k…that’s the same as Wembley Arena sold out nearly seven times!
Love Island is back on our screens at 9pm tonight on ITV2, and we can’t wait to watch the drama continue to unfold.
