The Mountain was missing a dumbbell at gym so decided to use wife instead

The former World's Strongest Man Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson has a strange solution for waiting for weights in the gym

People have always wondered what the secret to a lasting relationship is, well Icelandic bodybuilder The Mountain may have the answer.

The strongman, whose real name is Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, regularly works out with his wife Kelsey Morgan Henson and the pair have just appeared in a viral video on Instagram, which left viewers doing a double take.

The bodybuilder, aptly known as Thor or The Mountain because of his role in Game of Thrones, was seen pumping some iron at the gym.

As he worked out in his latest post, his wife helped him in most bizarre way possible - by becoming the dumbbell.

Rather than simply spotting the former World’s Strongest Man, Kelsey was lifted by belts as her husband used a dumbbell in the other hand.

Hafþór had a huge dumbbell in one hand and then placed his hands on Kelsey's weightlifting belt and he used her as the other dumbbell.

While lifting a person using just their belt takes a hell of a lot of balance, Hafþór made it look easy as he did several sets and before putting her down safely.

And while we’ve all had to wait for equipment at the gym and we’re still not sure this is the solution; his fans were impressed by the feat.

The video has already gained over 114,000 likes since being posted yesterday and people were blown away by the act, with one writing: "Folks should always lift their partners up."

Another added: "'Uplift your partner' in the literal sense."

A fan third wrote: "Hats off to your lady for maintaining that static hold for that long."

However, they should have been surprised by the feat as Kelsey is a fitness model and regularly shares her intense reps on her on Instagram account.

She even is become the face of Reign Body Fuel, with the influencer taking part in a photoshoot for the brand back in January.

And if you've been following The Mountain for a while, you'll know this isn't totally out of the ordinary in the Björnsson household.

Back in 2020, just as the Covid-19 pandemic was taking hold around the world, Hafþór posted a handy video of how to do a home workout.

His 'killer' workout involved 15 reps of bicep curl, front squat, 'one-handed wife press' and tricep extensions, which would have been perfect as gyms started shutting down.

Not only that, but he was seen bench-pressing Kelsey (which is an incredible feat in itself) while he was getting a tattoo.

Yes, that's right.

While some people wince and blubber while getting ink imprinted on their bodies, Hafþór thought it would be a fun idea to do a light workout.

He wrote on Instagram: "69... 70,71 easy weight!! Using my wife as weight while getting tattoooed! No rest for the wicked!"

The pair has been married since 2018 and welcomed a son two years later called Stormur Magni Hafþórsson.

They met met in the Canadian province of Alberta, during an event for Icelandic Mountain Vodka, while the Warwick Strongman Festival was touring.
