Celebrity Traitors is now approaching the business end of the series and a mural the BBC have been keeping updated seems to give away a massive hint that there is more at play than we realise.
Season two of Celebrity Traitors has been full of twists so far, with Richard E Grant’s shock blunder and the upcoming ‘hide-and-seek’ task being major standouts so far.
They have yet to put in a twist however that competes with the last season of the civilian Traitors in which they revealed that there was a secret traitor that even the others in the turret didn’t know about.
Even if Fiona’s run as the red traitor crashed and burned it was a huge moment for the show and it wouldn’t be surprising if the BBC and Studio Lambeth were trying to replicate this again.

The mural in question, which is updated every episode, seems to hint that something strange is afoot similar to this and they haven’t revealed it to the audience yet.
The mural states there have been 14 ‘betrayals’ since the show started and a bunch of options are ruled out

The mural, situated in Manchester’s Northern Quarter, has kept track of the board of celebs booted or killed from the game, but next to it is another mural of Claudia which shows a tally of banishments, recruitments, and ‘betrayals’.
This sits at 14 at the time of writing, prior to episode five, and that rules out a number of obvious theories.
The number of votes by faithful for other faithful? Easily more than 14 as Julie and Myha'la both received double digit votes when they were banished by the faithful.

The number of remaining faithful minus the traitors? Nope.
The number of times they banish a faithful in the show? Whilst exciting, this would require them to shield nearly every kill between now and the end of the series.
Anything at all really related to voting? Also not possible as, after the first episode, the number of betrayals was raised to two and there was no roundtable until the second episode.
This raises only one real option, that there is something going on we have not yet clocked.
One theory not only suggests a secret role in the game, but who the faithful holding that role is

On discovering the ’14 betrayals’ the LADbible office was sent into chaos, with theories flying left and right on what it could possibly mean.
Most of these, once you sat down and did the maths, turned out to be provably false, particularly upon discovering that after episode one the counter ticked up to two.
One theory stood out however, suggesting that former army captain and Bad Day singer James Blunt has a secret role.
The theory goes that there is a secret role in Celebrity Traitors season two in which one of the faithful is being encouraged to go after their fellow faithful.
If this is the case it only leads to one obvious candidate, James Blunt.
Of the entire castle only two remaining members of the cast have not yet voted for a traitor, JoAnne McNally and James Blunt.

Between the two options Blunt seems the most likely to be playing some sort of game in which he is turning against other faithful as he has been throwing accusations left and right.
Could he have betrayed his fellow faithful 14 times without us noticing? Based on how bad everyone was at guessing the Secret Traitor in the last season, it could be possible.
This theory is best summed up by this comment about the mural on Reddit saying: “It’s either totally random or it’s something yet to be revealed.
“If it’s the latter, I would guess it is something that is actually hidden from the audience rather than something we can currently work out.
“There is a latent demand in the fanbase for more mystery in the format. This was the primary purpose of the Secret Traitor, to try and satisfy fans who wanted to know what it was like to be in the dark.”
Celebrity Traitors returns tonight on BBC One at 8pm.
