Gogglebox viewers say show is ‘really not the same’ after iconic star quits show
Britain’s favourite couch critics are back for another series but viewers are saying it's 'not the same' without this iconic duo.
The much-loved Channel 4 show has been on TV has been off air since June 2.
The first episode of series 22 saw the Gogglebox viewers giving their thoughts on programmes such as Beat the Chasers and Gordon, Gino & Fred: Viva España.

However fans were disappointed to see that a person that had been on the show for 10 years, wasn't part of the gang.
Stephen Webb and Daniel Lustig-Webb recently brought out a statement announcing that they were hanging up their TV remotes and departing for the Channel 4 show.
Stephen has been on every single series of the show since it first went on air in 2013, whereas Daniel has only been on the show since 2019.
After a decade of laughs on the sofa, the couple said on Instagram: “After careful consideration, Daniel and I have decided that we will not be returning for the new series of Gogglebox.
“We feel the time is right for us to move on and explore other opportunities.
“We are extremely grateful to the cast and crew, or our Gogglebox family as we call them and of course the fans, thank you for all of your love & support over the years.”
Stephen's co-stars, Dave and Shirley from Wales, wished the pair well: “Aww that’s upset me and Shirley, to think you're finished but we all take different paths you both take care of lots of love.”
Sophie Sandiford, who also appears with her infamously hilarious brother Pete, added: “Best of luck to both of you, you’ll be greatly missed!”
But it was fans on Twitter that were arguably the most heartbroken by the news of the pair’s departure, with many taking to the platform to express how the show won't 'be the same without Stephen and Daniel'.
One said: “Was so excited for Gogglebox tonight until my mum has just texted me to inform me Stephen and Daniel have left and won’t be in the new series.
“Gutted, they were hilarious.”
Another added: “Losing Stephen is a big loss. I'm finding this quite boring missing some of the old cast.”
A third said: “Not gonna be the same without Stephen and Daniel, really enjoyed their reviews.”
While someone else said: "Really not the same without Stephen and Daniel is it #gogglebox"
And a final said: "‘It’s weird watching @C4Gogglebox without Stephen and Daniel."
