TV host angrily volleys flying drone and accidentally smashes model in the face

A Mexican TV host has responded after he faced intense backlash for kicking a drone into a model's face live on his show.

Now pretty much all of us in our lives have been tempted to shout Gerrard as we volley a perfectly positioned football but you obviously need to be a little more careful when it comes to an expensive piece of technology.

That did little to deter presenter Ernesto Chavana who took issue with the drone that was flying around his foot as he caught it sweetly on his laces dreaming of a top corner strike, only for it to fly straight into the face of one of nearby model Isabella Rojas, during his late-night comedy show on Tuesday night.

Considering there was a large group of the models standing close to him on the ES Show, it was a pretty likely conclusion, and there was significant backlash when he failed to check up on Rojas as she was escorted off the show with blood streaming down her face.

While others rushed to help Rojas, the presenter simply said into the microphone: "Get this thing away from me," before implying that it was the studio team's fault by saying: "Look what you have done."

The model managed to return to the show a few minutes later and flashed a smile which exposed a cut lip and some blood around her teeth.

Mr Chavana has since issued a statement apologising on social media, where he claims that his 'new shoes' might have played their part in the incident.

He said: "I'm very sorry. I am responsible for what just happened.

"I feel very ashamed and embarrassed for what I have just done. I kicked this thing they put in front of me...I don't know, maybe it was my new shoes."

As you can see, the man who decided to check on the drone rather than the woman in the video is also facing some heat, with some online users urging her to launch legal action against the host for his inexplicable actions.

Tragically, but perhaps unsurprisingly, some of the comments on X were blaming the woman and justifying Chavana's actions, even though this isn't the first time that he's lost his cool live on air..

Back in 2024, he announced his resignation from the programme during a broadcast after a heated argument with a production colleague, only to return just a few days later.
