Nearly 21 years later, a legend of reality TV has made a surprising return to the screen for a date with James Haskell.
The former England rugby star was stunned when he found out who he’d been set up with on Celebs Go Dating last night (15 May).
And to be honest, so were us viewers. I mean, who had it on their bingo card for 2026 that we’d finally see Supernanny legend Meghann Cooke back on telly and in this context?
Yep, I’m talking about the once nine-year-old known for lashing out at Jo Frost, screaming at her parents and of course (in a clip that still goes viral today) explaining how to articulate ‘unacceptable’.

During her date with James, Meghann admitted she’d experienced a difficult childhood before casually making the grand reveal that she’d appeared on Supernanny.

The Cooke family appeared on the reality series back in 2005, as the girl would hit her younger sisters and use mum Denise as a punching bag.
Her family have previously spoken out on how the show made Meghann look extremely naughty. And she told James on the date that it’s quite a ‘well-known episode’ as he asked: “How bad were you?”
While he might not have recognised Meghann, viewers quickly did as she’s certainly right about that – it’s perhaps one of the most famous Supernanny episodes of all time.
“I bit her [Frost], I called her a b**ch,” she told her date.
Somewhat stunned, James digged in: “So you were an ill disciplined little nightmare?”
And Meghann responded: “No. Well, I think I was just challenging.”

The pair laughed as the rugby legend repeated ‘challenging’ as he told the cameras: “I mean, I’m a bit surprised about Meghann’s Supernanny revelation.
“But let’s be honest with you, you can’t judge people on what happened in the past. Because if you did, I wouldn’t be allowed to leave the house.”
James asked Meghann if she’s a ‘good girl now’ as she said she’s ‘mellowed out’.
After all that, the date seemed to go pretty well, as they shared a kiss at the end of the episode.
And Meghann said: “He is really genuinely lovely and it was really easy to have a conversation."
Fans on social media were amazed by the crossover, with the likes of Katherine Ryan calling it ’10/10 casting’ as others couldn’t help but share their favourite quotes from the Supernanny star.
“It’s my show I’ll do what I like,” as another reminisced: “'I didn't pinch her. I HIT HER.’ I literally quote this on the daily.”
And Jo Frost even commented to say Meghann was a ‘a beautiful child who could be challenging in her own right to her parents, as she was very smart’.
“It is lovely to see Meghann a grown woman,” she added.
