The Boys creator 'weary' as Homelander breastfeeding scene compared to Trump posts

The scene sees Homelander compare himself to Jesus, which has drawn comparisons online to Trump's controversial posts

The Boys has had scenes that people felt were parodies of Donald Trump more or less since season one, but now the series has managed to go one step further and viewers think it is predicting Trump controversies.

Season five of The Boys is three episodes in and, as is customary for the Prime Video TV show, it has already had some pretty insane scenes.

Whether it be the Charlie Kirk reference in the opening ten seconds of the new season or Homelander bathing in breast milk, there has been some fairly shocking moments.

None however have created as much discussion as a Homelander scene which many viewers think predicted the recent controversy in which Donald Trump posted AI pictures of himself acting as Jesus. One of the many viewers to make the connection between how Homelander acts in that scene and Trump’s bizarre AI posts however, is The Boys creator Eric Kripke.

You may be questioning how that scene links to Trump if you haven’t seen the episode but we promise: it does.

The Boys season five sees Homelander’s mental state beginning to severely deteriorate so much so that he is visited by Madelyn Stillwell, an antagonist from season one who took advantage of his mummy issues to manipulate him until he killed her.

She appears in a ray of holy light with imagery that fans online thought was incredibly close to that which Trump shared on Truth Social in which he appeared as a Jesus like figure to save people.

One fan posted on X: “It is genuinely insane how their semi-trump parody starts believing he's a divine being in the exact same week as the real trump despite the episode being written a year and a half ago.”

Another who felt pretty much the same however was Eric Kripke, the writer of the show.

Kripke said he is ‘weary’ about the show predicting real life events

This is not the first time that Trump’s administration has ended up replicating certain plot points from The Boys, and Kripke spoke out about it.

Speaking to Polygon, Kripke said: “I am really tired and weary of the world reflecting the show before we get a chance to do it.

“I appreciate the marketing. I’m just like, can you just please give us a chance to put some absurd satire out there before you prove that it's more realistic than we ever intended?”

Kripke specifically pointed to Homelander being told in the vision that he should become god and that he should be more beloved than Jesus, adding: “This is the episode where Homelander decides he’s going to be God and 48 hours before it, Trump releases an image of himself as God.

“A month ago when we were talking about marketing, I was like, ‘Homelander saying he’s God is so out there. We have to be careful about how we even introduce the idea to the public because they’ll say he’s gone too far’ and here we are. It’s just really hard to out-satire this world.”
