Virgin Island star ‘banned’ from speaking to surrogate he had sex with on show

The cast were forced to cut contact with the experts, Dave said

Viewers bid bon voyage to the first season of Virgin Island this week, but the lessons which participants learned on the show are everlasting.

For those who didn't tune in, a dozen people who have never gone all the way before were whisked off on a luxury retreat in the Mediterranean to get some expert advice from sexual specialists.

They were given a ‘hands-on’ crash course in intimacy - but unfortunately for the participants, there aren't any follow-up lessons on offer.

In fact, the only Virgin Island star to actually lose their V plates on the show has told how he hasn't been allowed to speak to the surrogate who did the deed with him since.

In the finale episode which aired on Tuesday (27 May), a bloke called Dave was the only person who was deemed ready to pop his cherry.

Fans of the show watched as he was taken to the 'zen den' with sex surrogate Kat Slade, before they embarked on a 'marathon session' between the sheets. Not bad for a first timer, eh lads?

Dave admitted he was hyper-aware that this intimate moment wasn't exactly just between him and Kat - as 'all of Channel 4's viewers' were in the back of his mind too.

But he insisted he was 'fine being recorded' after 'getting used to' having cameras follow him around in Croatia after a while.

According to the accountant, 24, the experiment was a huge success for him personally, although some of his fellow participants still aren't ready to take the plunge just yet.

Six months after filming for the show wrapped, Dave met his now-girlfriend - who has even watched a few episodes of him being educated by the sex surrogates.

Thankfully for his new partner, she doesn't have to worry about him still having a thing for Kat, either.

That's because after losing his virginity to the certified surrogate and somatic practitioner, Dave hasn't been able to say a word to her since.

He explained that the cast were instructed to cut contact with the experts on Virgin Island after the show had ended.

Dave admitted he did initially struggle to 'detach' from the bond he had built with Kat, but said there was no danger of him falling in love with her.

"It was explained very clearly to us that you don’t stay in touch after – it’s sort of two weeks, and that’s it and then you move on," he told the Daily Mail.

"It’s not easy to just detach from feelings, but I think it’s an important lesson of it to like have those feelings and then let go of them, which probably is one of the most important lessons."

Dave went on to clarify that he hadn't fallen head over heels for Kat, but he had grown a lot of respect and admiration for her.

"I obviously wasn’t in love with her anything," he added. "But I respected her greatly. I don’t think I was too worried about falling in love."

I suppose the silver lining is, at least he's got a taste of what ghosting is like now too after his stint on Virgin Island.
