Drug Dealer Wins Darwin Award By Letting His Customers Pay By Card

There are many reason why drug dealers don't let you pay by card instead of not hard cash. One is that they don't get to throw it all in the air afterwards and shout 'Fucking money!! That was actually just a bag of Daz! Come on!!'

Another is that is makes dealers' traceable. Mark Slender, 35, from Gloucestershire, learnt this the hard way recently after deciding to invest in a chip and PIN device while doing the drop-off rounds for his clientele.

Obviously, Slender was caught out pretty quick. Police found the device on charge on his car.

It had racked up £12,000 worth of sales in a matter of five months (not bad) and landed Slender a seven-year sentence in prison.

PC Thom Finnikin, said: "Slender appears to have made a considerable profit dealing drugs and tried to conceal his financial gain by investing in expensive items. We seized pieces of designer clothing and gold sovereigns worth in excess of £10,000, which we believe were bought with his drug money.

"He attempted to bring drug dealing into the 21st century by using a chip and pin machine to take payment for cocaine and subsequently showed his arrogance by putting a tag line at the top of each receipt supplied to his drug buyers.

Slender has extensive previous convictions for drugs supply. He was making a considerable profit in his illicit trade and I would like to thank the members of the community who provided the intelligence which led to his apprehension."

Police later raided his Bishop's Cleeve home and discovered £5800 worth of drugs.
