Russian News Anchor Scared Shitless By Labrador Loose Live On TV

She's more of a cat person...

When you're sitting at the newsdesk trying to report the day's news, or something approaching it, the last thing you want to happen is for a dog to invade the studio. Well, the last thing you want to happen is to coincidentally look like a rape suspect who the LA police are looking for, a la this poor soul.

Come to think of it, there are a lot of things worse than a dog invading a studio, such as an invasion of rabid ants or a hurricane, or having to conduct an interview with Bruce Willis, who knew deep down that Die Hard 4 was shite and he'd most probably just done it in a vain attempt to revive his flagging acting career/cash in on a classic action film franchise.

But for one Russian news anchor, the dog thing really was the worst thing that happened in her day, presuming she's still alive and she didn't receive any really bad news earlier or later that day. All we have to go on is a Daily Mail video, because the Daily Mail is the go to place for videos of dogs, cats and heads of government's legs these days.

The news anchor was doing the news, as is the job of news anchors in general, when a black Labrador came on the scene. Mucky.

Video footage shows her giving a straightfaced news bulletin before suddenly looking down at an unseen something. The mutt quickly jumped up onto her news counter, or desk, or whatever it's called, and began making a scene, like me at my aunt's 50th.

Coincidentally, Russian telly channel Mir 24 has a black Labrador as it's logo. But because Russian TV stations never engage in anything other than upstanding, honest, serious journalism, suggestions that it was a flagrant, shameless PR stunt were quickly dismissed/quelled with impunity.

"That feeling when even a serious news channel is chasing for cheap hype..." one viewer said.

"I don't buy it, how can a dog of that size sneak into a TV studio without being noticed? Cute doggy though!" said another viewer.

The reporter attempted to forge on with her news reading responsibilities, but when the dog started messing about with her papers and getting all up in her grill, she could sadly no longer ignore the canine's desperate bid for attention. Amazingly, no one at the station rushed to help the newsreader but again, it definitely wasn't a publicity stunt. Definitely.

"What should I do with a dog in the studio, people?" the newsreader asked before adding with undeniable, slick panache, "I am actually a cat person."

She then finished reading the news with Rover by her side. Throughout the whole 'ordeal', she did not look particularly bothered, but gave an excellent impression of someone completely taken aback by the visit of her new four-legged doggy friend.
