Saturday night, Champions League final, a couple of beers. It really is the stuff of dreams. That is until you realise you've got work in the morning and can't take it too far.
Usually I'd just nip to the local off-licence and pick up two four-packs of their finest stuff, but I couldn't face the prospect of a crippling hangover.
That's where I discovered Roley's Super Natural Lager, a self-proclaimed 'revolutionary beer that can dramatically change your approach' to drinking.
The award-winning tipple seeks to cut out the 'compromise' that comes with boozing and, as an official partner of Hyrox, is made for those who want to live an active lifestyle while enjoying themselves.

Knowing I had work but still wanting to enjoy watching Arsenal lose, I put its lofty claims to the test and spent the night on the Roley's.
Drink one:

I'll be honest, at first I was sceptical, but I was pleasantly surprised when the first sip graced my lips, it tasted just like a standard lager, and coming in at just 89 calories per 330ml can with a respectable 4.4 percent ABV, my interest was piqued.
The game had kicked off, the first beer was flying down, and the vibes were high. No buzz yet but an incredibly enjoyable start.
Drinks two to four:
The good times didn't stop there, and the beers kept flowing. By half-time I'd sunk four of the 330ml cans and only consumed around 350 calories. For reference, I'd have had more than 550 calories drinking an average 330ml beer, which for someone who's into their health is a huge win.
Now, having been out the night before, I had inadvertently created the perfect test environment to compare how I felt the morning after each session.
I'll be honest, drinking eight beers didn't sound appealing at all to me waking up on Saturday, and I'll leave it up to you to guess what state that meant I was in.
However, after these four, I was in no mood to stop; the beer contains 'naturally brewed B-Vitamins', and let me tell you I was feeling good.
A very slight buzz, and still hours of fun to come.

Drinks five to eight:
As an honest man, I can admit I'm not the hardest person to get tipsy in the world, and around this time is where I'd usually start to feel it... I know.
And I don't know whether it was the lack of sleep the night before or the 'football' I was watching, but after the fifth can went down and PSG's goal hit the back of the net, I'll admit I was starting to get a bit tired.
Despite the fatigue, though, I still felt good - the beer was still tasting good and there was no bloating or brain fog.
The story of the final few beers was largely the same - despite the rising urge to order a kebab as they went down - it felt as if I was drinking any other beer.
Usually at this point I'd be worried about the next morning, and to be honest, I still was, I'm a sceptical man and I was putting an eight-hour shift - which was steadily getting closer - on the line.
Eight beers, an Arsenal loss, feeling tired and ready for a kip. It really is the stuff of dreams. Until I remembered I was back up in a few short hours.

The next day:
The moment of truth. My alarm went off. The morning before that was a travesty. But today, nothing. I felt as if I'd done a night on the lemonades.
I got up at 8am, my mouth wasn't dry, my head wasn't pounding, and my belly wasn't... I'll save you that thought.
This isn't even an exaggeration, I really did feel completely fine. As a man who suffers with hangovers, I was seriously impressed.

The shift went like a breeze, and I even went to the gym straight after, something I probably could've done earlier in the day too.
Roley's says it 'created a beer that fits seamlessly into a life lived with intention', and it really did perform like it said it would.
They also say the beer keeps taste, clarity, and satisfaction exactly where it should be. Let me tell you, it was tasty and I was completely satisfied. Both on the night and the following morning.
10/10 tinnies.
