Man went on 2,000-person nude cruise and said 'everyone knew' one rule they had to follow

A man who embarked on a 2,000-person nude cruise has lifted the lid on the one rule every passenger 'had to follow'.

If the sea-nery doesn't do it for you, there's one cruise line which offers a far more cheeky experience.

Rather nautical, the dress code is nude, and passengers are able to enjoy everything a cruise has to offer - in only their birthday suit.

Letting it all hang out is very much encouraged on board, apart from in the buffet line, for obvious health and safety reasons.

Over on Reddit, one person has shared what his experience was like to travel with a company who've been doing nude cruises for over 30 years.

Bare Necessities Tour and Travel is a Texas-based company that offers an annual voyage with naturists from all over the world.

On their website, they make it clear that the cruise isn't for holiday-makers who have the intention of 'getting busy'.

"Social nudity is not a sexual activity, and we strive to dispel the misconception that it is anything but natural and beautiful," they explained.

This year's cruise was the Big Nude Boat 2025, consisting of an 11-day trip aboard the Norwegian Pearl from Miami on 3 February and returning on 14 February.

It included exclusive stops at Great Stirrup Cay in the Bahamas, as well as visits to San Juan, St. Maarten, Dominica, Martinique, and St. Lucia.

Now, the anonymous man said that a previous trip he went on, which cost around $2,500 (£1,965) per person, was 'awesome', and reiterated that it was 'not a swingers' cruise or a sex-positive environment', but rather 'a crowd with lots of nudist experience'.

And there were some stipulations all passengers had to abide by.

To start, he explained how the captain would make an announcement about 30 minutes after exiting a port about 'when clothes can be removed'.

"Same, in reverse, going into port," he said.

He also stressed that there was no obligation to remove your clothes if you didn't want to, however, 'most people were nude most of the time'.

Opening up the thread to questions from curious Redditors, one user asked: "Do you carry a towel everywhere you go? It seems rather gross to have multiple naked sweaty bodies sitting or laying on everything that everyone uses."

The man responded: "Yes. One must only sit with a towel under one’s bare butt. There are clean towels all over the ship."

As for the most important rule of all: no photography.

Adding that this was a rule 'everyone knew', he explained: "I was much less worried here than I have been at nude beaches. Almost no one had phones with them outside their cabin.

"There were many signs posted. There were a lot of staff from the charter company whose job it was to enforce good naturist etiquette.

"And I've spent time online researching nudism and I've never seen a single online photograph from the cruise except for the group shots that people voluntarily pose for.

"For those reasons, I wasn't concerned."
