Here’s why it might be time to pack everything up and move to Western Australia

If you’re new to Australia, or even just getting the itch to move, it might be the obvious choice to settle down on the east coast. We’ve all been forced to listen to the ‘which city is better’ debate, right? But, when it comes to finding work, and making sure that work can exist in harmony with an exciting and fulfilling lifestyle, where you settle down is important.

As it turns out, the best destination might’ve been lying under your nose the whole time: Western Australia. Moving to WA still offers all the creature comforts you might be used to on the east coast, but offers some unique experiences — for both business and leisure. Not only that, but initiatives like the Skilled Migration Employment Register (SMER) help make getting employed that much easier. Take the building and construction industry, for example — there’s plenty of opportunity to work in this industry, which means you get to enjoy what WA living has to offer even faster.

But what does WA living mean? Well, first thing that comes to mind is sunsets over a beach. On the east coast, you’ll get beach sunrises but that’s only if you can be bothered waking up before the crack of dawn. And even then, unless you learn the abilities to shift space and time itself, you’ll never be able to see the sun set over an east coast horizon.

Imagine what it’s like enjoying a cold schooner at a beach bar watching the sunset over the water, especially after a day on the tools. Cracking open a beer at 5:30am just doesn’t have the same appeal, does it?

In all of WA, there’s a whole lot of living too. No matter where you are, you’re pretty much guaranteed something new to do or somewhere new to visit. When you’re not on the tools, you’re unlikely to run out of new restaurants and bars to explore anytime soon. Not only that, if you’re looking to get away, you can head to one of WA’s 9 iconic wine regions for a taste of decadence, or just spend your days on some of the whitest beaches in the country (why not enjoy a swim with some wild dolphins while you’re at it?)

Now, luckily for you, Western Australia is sporting an absolutely booming job market, especially if you’ve got skills in building and construction. WA is a state of opportunity, and the Skilled Migrant Employment Register is proof. If you’ve come from another country and are looking to plant your feet in Australian soil, WA truly could be your best bet. The Skilled Migrant Employment Register is a completely free initiative that is solely meant to match you – a skilled job seeker – with an employer that’s looking for someone with your skillset.

Not only that, but employers are now getting the resources and support to fill their workforce through skilled migrant workers. There are future bosses out there that are ready to hire those new to the state and to the country, and it’s never been easier to find a job that’s right for you.

Learn more about the jobs on offer and connect with employers in Western Australia today, after you’ve done some inspo scrolling of all the things to do in WA, of course.
