Strict rules of 'real life porno' swingers and nudist resort as visitors share what really goes on

Some say it's the future for swinging

When attending the ‘real life porno’ swingers and nudist resort, visitors have to follow a strict list of rules.

As the popularity of ‘spicy cruises’ seems to rise and polyamory continues to enter the mainstream conversation, there’s more to learn about the good old swinging lifestyle.

From the yearly Swingathon festival to Open House: The Great Sex Experiment shedding light on it, there’s now the realisation that there are entire places people can go on holiday for it.

Yep, the days of approaching singles on dating apps to ask if they’d like to join in are on the way out (I hope anyway) as there’s more and more destinations to meet like-minded swingers.

One of those destinations is the Desire Riviera Maya Resort, a five-star resort that swingers say is ‘the future of what the lifestyle should be all about’.

The Desire Riviera Maya Resort

One of the most popular resorts for swingers and nudists, it’s set on the beaches in the Mexican Caribbean.

The couples-only resort is all-inclusive with all sorts of activities and luxuries, with the likes of naked beachfronts, an 'orgy garden' and pleasure rooms with provocative entertainment.

Advertised on Thomas Cook holidays, it’s a place to ‘discover a world of deliciously erotic experiences’.

A ‘clothing optional venue’, the Desire Riviera Maya Pearl Resort 4.5 stars on TripAdvisor and is only available for adults over the age of 21.

The resort’s site says the guest profile is: “Straight couples that are looking to enjoy a good time with their partners and rekindle the flame.”

Strict rules guests have to follow

As mentioned in the adverts for the resort, it’s a 21+ venue and while it’s ‘clothing optional’, ‘cover ups’ have to be worn where food is served, in the lobby and certain other public areas. The disco is also not clothing optional.

The Playroom and the Jacuzzi Lounge are for couples only and intimacy is only permitted here – and not in the public areas.

Guests can only take photos in their own rooms and smoking is only allowed in a designated area.

What visitors say the swinging resort is like

One couple who visited the resort in Mexico say the destination is ‘the future of what the lifestyle should be about’.

And a woman who stopped by the Playroom wrote about her experience for Maxim: "I wasn’t sure what I was looking at since it was so dark, but as my eyes adjusted, I saw everything. At least five couples were in there, just going at it.

"One woman was getting railed from behind. A dude was going down on his wife. Another couple was going the slow and sensual route and grinding at a glacial pace."

But one TripAdvisor user explained how it might be strange for a first-timer.

It read: "What was a tough adjustment is that this place is sexual 24/7 and this is not for everyone. I had a hard time with the orgies in the hot tub and the constant seduction for the swingers everywhere even though there is truly no pressure... but that also converts to... oh, if you are not 'into the lifestyle' then you are an outsider.”
