People shocked after opening 'ridiculous' £158 SKIMS advent calendar dubbed ‘not real'

Shoppers have shared their disappointment in a series of brutal online posts about the SKIMS accessories advent calendar worth £158.

The festive item, by co-founder Kim Kardashian's shape-wear brand, is listed online for the UK, and described as featuring 'twelve days of fun surprises' with 'hair accessories to keychains and more.'

"Unwrap a mix of playful items and everyday favourites. All packaged in a festive advent calendar box," the description continued.

Fans rushed to buy the anticipated product, which quickly sold out, but there were many disappointed customers after they uncovered what was actually inside the Christmas product.

On the likes of X, it was described as 'ridiculous' and 'not real' with pictures revealing the full contents of the calendar, including the likes of a few small hair clips, bands and a keychain.

The reaction on social media has since sparked major backlash over the cost, with one user on TikTok, known as @wetsloppyswollen, also sharing a video of herself unboxing all 12 products which has since been shared widely online.

She first appeared thrilled with a small teddy bear keychain, but then appeared confused by the items as the pulled hair clips and hair ties out of the boxes.

"I'm about to get p----d off. I'm genuinely about to get p----d off," she says, before hoping the final box will be 'made of gold' as she appeared disappointed reaching the end of the unboxing.

TikTok user Kayla Ryan, with over one million followers, went on to call the calendar 'terrible' and a 'joke' as she also shared a video of her unboxing the days.

The calendar has continued to be criticised across social media, where it was likened to the 'Fyre Festival of advent calendars'.

"That skims advent calendar can’t be real," one user posted, as another wrote: "I can’t believe that the skims advent calendar is real."

"Skims advent calendar is killing me omg y'all got a box of junk for 150 DOLLARS," posted another, followed by "I cannot believe the price on this."

However others were quick to defend the calendar, making clear that the description for the product clearly listed it contained accessory items.

"It's the skims ACCESSORY Advent calendar, it literally says it on the description and also tells you what’s inside before you buy it..." one person posted beneath a TikTok video.

Another meanwhile said: "The description lists everything in it. It’s all listed right there. It’s not a surprise unless you don’t read."

The description for the product clearly states that it includes a bear keychain, hair elastic bands, satin scrunchies, bobby pins, a SKIMS squishy, hair clips, a bra elastic headband, a keychain, and mirror keychain.

SKIMS are yet to comment publicly on the comments. LADbible contacted the brand for comment.
