It happened in the early hours of the morning following my graduating exhibition. I was incapable of doing much more than stumble towards Charing Cross Station in London to wait for the night bus home.

Instantly regretting the greasy Big Mac, which seemed like such a good idea at the time, I launched it into the bin. Soon to follow were my phone, wallet and keys that were also in my hand at the time. The sinkhole of a bin was the deeper than your nan's... arm.

So there's me, legs in the air performing what I guess you could class as a handstand to try and find my belongings, hoping that this would be the point where I black out and don't remember in the morning.

Anyway, that's the McDonald's story that springs to mind when reading about the latest news just in from the fast-food chain. Shamefully, three years later, I remember the whole ordeal.

McDonald's has introduced a walk-thru service for those who are too drunk to drive, The Sun reports. An outlet in Llandudno, North Wales began a trial last weekend that serves late-night party goers who have the munchies on their way home.

The scheme will operate between the hours of 2.30 and 4am when customers will be able to use a 'walk-thru' lane to order their early morning feasts.

A McDonald's spokeswoman told The Sun: "As the restaurant is in the process of securing a 24-hour license, customers can only use the drive-thru to order food at night. So, the 'walk-thru' is just a play on how customers can come and enjoy a nice meal later in the evening."

Who would have thought it, McDonald's actually offering a healthy alternative for once? Healthier than drink driving anyway - don't do that!
