Fans have flooded to Conor McGregor's Instagram in shock over how different he looks without his beard.

Now, we all know a bit of facial hair for men can be life-changing. It can turn a boy into a man, define that jaw-line and those cheekbones, and really seal the deal.

Alas, beards don't have to be permanent, and sometimes you can't help but get twitchy fingers, itching to get the scratchy hair off your face.

However, whether anyone will ever look at you the same again - or even recognise you - is another problem entirely.

Conor McGregor fans certainly got a trick - not treat - this Halloween.

When he's not busy landing his first acting role alongside Jake Gyllenhaal, beefing Hasbulla or or confirming he'll be taking on Floyd Mayweather again, Conor McGregor is like any other man and spends time with his family, celebrating occasions such as Halloween.

However, this spooky season, fans of the UFC mixed martial artist got a massive shock when they saw McGregor's outfit.

After seeing the Instagram post, Mayweather may not be quite as nervous for the 2023 rematch.

McGregor's appearance gave fans a trick opposed to a treat.

The post shows McGregor all dressed up for a night of trick or treating with his wife Dee Devlin and children Conor Jr, Croía and Rían.

McGregor is in a matching costume with his wife as pilots, and his children are dressed as a terrifying razor-toothed Huggy Wuggy bear, adorable fluffy lion and cute light-up fairy.

While the kids put in a valiant effort - the McGregors' dog even getting involved for a family pic - there's only one thing fans are talking about: the fighter's shocking lack of facial hair.

Fans of the UFC star have since flocked to his social media in astonishment over his radically altered appearance.

One user commented: "Who the fook is that guy hahahah who the fook is that."

Another simply stated: "No beard Conor makes an appearance."

"Not the beard lol dudeee," a third commiserated.

A final voiced: "You look hilariously funny without a beard. Looking like a disney movie train rider."

Fans were taken aback by McGregor's lack of beard.

Beard or no beard, it's not going to stop McGregor from trying to return to the ring in 2023 after recovering from a broken leg.

However, one fan commiserated: "Conor shaved….he doesn’t look like a champion anymore."

At least McGregor has the option of growing it back.
