Fashion brand gets called out for revealing 'inappropriate' funeral dress

This little black number has caused quite the stir on TikTok.

A fashion label is being absolutely torn to shreds after promoting a revealing black dress and deeming it ‘perfect’ for a funeral.

Any publicity is good publicity, right?

The small UK clothing brand known as Edgy Little Pieces posted a series of TikTok videos, with a woman showing off the new racy item.

In one of the videos, the woman jokingly says: “Hi ladies, So we’re had so many people have been asking me for funeral fits; and we’ve just got this piece in today.”

She adds while modelling the form-fitting number: “Look no further, we think [the dress] is absolutely perfect.”

In another video, the woman is seen with the same little black number and sarcastically tells viewers that if they’re going for a more conservative look, they can tie the front of the design by the laces.

That way, the dress won’t show, well, the entire cleavage.

She tells viewers: “So I’ve just tied it up to make it super modest, but you can also loosen it for the after-party, and it’s super versatile.”

Ahh, that's what we call the ‘afterlife after-party’.

However, many didn’t take too kindly to the joke, as many viewers slammed it for being too inappropriate.

One disgusted user wrote: “Is this for real? You do not wear an outfit like this to a funeral, yes I know some request that ppl wear pink or going out outfits, but this is too much for a funeral..just wrong.”

Another commented: “Are you mad? As a funeral service operator, you would be judged. How dare you go dressed up like some street Walker to a funeral.”

A third said: "My daughter tried on a similar dress as a joke when we were shopping & I told her she looked like she was going to a Kardashian funeral LOL so maybe.”

While some were quick to defend the fashion label, as one user joked: “Can someone wear this to my funeral.”

Another shared: “Works for me, some people want to ‘celebrate the life of’ not ‘mourn the passing of’”.

And a third wrote: “Everyone has an after party after funerals.”
