The 'world's biggest vegan camping festival' is coming to the UK.

Vegan Camp-Out is a three-day event that has been running since 2016. With a record number of folks switching to the plant-based lifestyle, the festival is set to be bigger than ever this year.

The event runs from 30 August to 1 September at Newark Showground, Nottinghamshire and, according to event organisers, offers a packed line-up of talks, music, workshops, yoga and fitness. There's also an 'after party' each night with DJs.

There's talks, workshops and music.

Oh, and of course, there's lots and lots of food and drink - with pizza, kebabs, smoothies, ice cream, burgers, hot dogs, Chinese and Indian cuisine - all completely vegan.

Speakers include vegan-activist James Aspey, Gaz Oakley AKA the Avant-Garde Vegan and Dirty Sanchez's Matt Pritchard, as well as a DJ set from Shikari Sound System (the electronic alter-ego of Enter Shikari).

We've all seen the horror-photos showing the amount of crap left behind at festivals, but Vegan Camp-Out is aiming to combat this and is going as 'zero waste as possible'.

A message on the site reads: "We can't control what people bring onto the site, but we can do something about how it's disposed of.

"Our waste management partner Mountain Skip Hire and their recycling partner Mid UK Recycling sort through all the bags of rubbish and recycle everything that can possibly be recycled.

The massive festival will see attendees from 30 different countries.

"Anything that can't is used to generate electricity to power their facilities or produce refuse-derived coal replacement fuel."

The organisers have committed to ensuring at least one talk or workshop about zero waste, reducing waste or being low-impact will be included across the weekend.

A car-share scheme has also been set up, which festival-goers are able to sign up to ahead of the event.

Of course there will be plenty of vegan food on offer.

As well as offering vegans a fun weekend, a whopping £5,000 from ticket sales will go to vegan-charity Viva!, which you can find out more about here. So, all in all, the whole thing sounds pretty guilt-free.

Tickets cost £45 for the weekend and you buy them or find out more, here.
