TV star Ulrika Jonsson was a self-confessed 'sun worshipper' who was aware that her skin would likely 'pay the price' for it.

But after undergoing an array of treatments over the last six months, the 58-year-old has managed to reverse some of the damage that basking in UV rays caused to her face.

And her before and after photos 'speak for themselves', according to the UK clinic who helped her undo some of the harm caused to her skin.

In a recent Instagram post, Jonsson revealed that she had 'largely given up on her face' and had 'learnt to accept the consequences of years of sun exposure'.

The writer said she was unaware that there was 'anything she could do about it', until she found Dr Benji Dhillon and his team at Define Clinic.

"For me, it was not about turning back the clock, but it was the start of a relationship which had its basis in reassurance and realistic expectations," Jonsson said while showing her refreshed new look to her followers.

"I am more than happy with laughter lines and wrinkles. They are, after all the marks of a life lived. My journey was about balance."

She explained that Dr Dhillon - a cosmetic surgeon who also specialises in 'top-tier non-invasive' treatments' - crafted a 'whole new skincare regime' for her as well as performing 'incredible treatments' on her skin.

Speaking of her results Jonsson said: "Nothing worth having comes quickly and to that end, I trusted the process wholeheartedly. I am beyond thrilled with my new skin and the reflection that now meets me in the mirror every day.

"I think we need to remember that ‘ageing’ is natural but above all else, it’s a privilege. How we, as individuals, choose to age is our prerogative. I would never trust anyone else with my skin and my face."

Define Clinic has shared some further details about Jonsson's personalised treatment plan which focused on 'transforming and strengthening' the health of her skin.

To start, the former Celebrity Big Brother star received biostimulators known as Julaine - which are injectables which stimulate the body’s natural production of collagen.

Dr Dhillion said of this: "We used Julaine as the core foundation in Ulrika’s treatment protocol to improve her skin health from the inside out.

"Julaine works in the layer of the skin called the extra-cellular matrix to switch back on the sleepy fibroblasts that are no longer producing collagen and elastin," while explaining that it also 'improves skin quality, firmness and creates a lifting effect'.

Evolus Dermal Filler was also used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles on her face.

Jonsson also had laser resurfacing, known as Erbium, and injectable skin boosters called Jalupro, followed by another laser treatment known as BBL x MOXI.

This tweakment helps get rid of pigmentation by exposing it to light, while Johnson also had Polynucleotides - DNA from trout or salmon sperm - injected into her face to promote the production of collagen and elastin.

To top it all off, the mum had High Intensity Focused Ultrasound (HIFU) on her face, which also helps stimulate collagen production and gives people a tighter, more lifted look.

"Every treatment was carefully selected to target skin quality, rejuvenation and long-term skin health," Define Clinic explained in an Instagram post.

Dr Dhillon has since shared a number of before and after photos which document the difference in Jonsson's appearance, which he described as 'subtle and natural'.

Along with a host of social media users who were wowed by her transformation, the presenter herself was among those in the comment section of the post praising the medic's work.

Jonsson wrote: "God, she’s handsome!! But seriously, the results are beyond my expectations. Natural. Balanced. Realistic."

Speaking to the Daily Mail about his approach to dealing with Johnson's sun-worn skin, Dr Dhillon said: "Great work must be bespoke and involves a deep-diving, transparent consultancy process.

"So when Ulrika came in to see me, it was important I understood her goals from having treatment. She didn't want to look 20 years younger, it was about looking the best she can for her age – and more importantly still looking like herself. We're delighted with Ulrika's results that feel authentic and real, and most of all Ulrika still feels like herself 0 just more refreshed and with even more confidence that she's showing up as her best self."
