An Australian woman has lifted the lid on her 'horrible' coronavirus symptoms after previously denying the virus was real.

Katie Puffet has posted to TikTok explaining how she feels silly after catching Covid-19.

She didn't care much about the pandemic before and was sure she wouldn't catch it because she didn't believe 'it was a thing'.

However, Ms Puffett has become one of thousands of people in Sydney who have contracted the virus in this latest outbreak.

Her symptoms have become so severe that she's been admitted to two separate hospitals as well as doing a bout of hotel quarantine.

"Personally my symptoms are pretty bad, although my mum and friends have said they're not bad at all. I guess everyone's bodies react differently," she said.

"I'm all right, very nauseous, hurts to breathe and can't stand up without needing to faint but I'll be OK."

When a follower asked about her blood pressure, she added: "It has reached about 104 but other than that below 100. Doesn't feel good."

Katie is now trying to manage the waves of symptoms she keeps getting, which includes headaches, sore eyes, coughing, body pain, and difficulty breathing.

She isn't vaccinated against the coronavirus and will now have to wait up to three months before she'll be able to get her first jab.

Aussies have booked up every appointment on the list as they hope to overcome the deadly and viral outbreak that has so far affected New South Wales, Victoria, the ACT, South Australia and even New Zealand.

Many people who previously denied the pandemic being a problem are finding out why it's caused so much mayhem after contracting it.

New South Wales set a national record today (August 25) with 919 new cases of Covid-19 after 149,252 tests.

Katie is one of 645 people currently in hospital being treated for the virus and 113 of those are in the intensive care unit. Forty of those people are on ventilators.

Only 106 people have been confirmed to be in isolation before they received their positive test result, meaning there could hundreds of residents who were out in the community while infectious.

There have been two people die in the 24 hours since the last update, which includes a woman in her 30s in Sydney's West.

This brings the state's death toll for this outbreak to 76 and 132 since the pandemic began.
