A woman has been remembered as 'fearless' and a 'kind friend' after she was killed by a man falling to his death.

Taylor Kahle was on a date with a man she had met a few times and was excited about getting to know when she tragically died in San Diego.

The 29-year-old had just wrapped up drinks at a bar and was walking along a street in California with her date when a suicidal man jumped off the top floor of a parking garage.

He fell and landed on top of Taylor and crushed her to death. The unknown man also died at the scene.

Ms Kahle was a few days short of turning 30 and had plans to travel away with friends and explore her new relationship. However, her life was cut short.

Taylor's friend, Laurel McFarlane, has opened up about the pain of learning her friend and work colleague had died.

"She had just met someone that she kind of liked - it was new, just starting out - and she was just excited that there was someone she was having a connection with," McFarlane told NBC 7.

Laurel added that because Taylor died so suddenly and so strangely, it's been a huge adjustment.

"That's what makes you feel like she's still going to walk through the door," she said. "I just want to hug her and tell her, 'It's going to be OK and we're going to fix you up and you'll be fine.'"

Fellow co-worker of Taylor's, Dean Williams added to KNSD: "We loved her, and, I mean, the photo we put up of her with a smile - that's one thing she always had always, no matter what, [she] always had a smile on her face."

Chris Williams, who also worked alongside Taylor, said: "We pray for her family, and we pray for the family of the gentlemen who jumped, along with the gentleman she was with. It's just a triple tragedy."

The medical examiner has declared both Taylor and the man who jumped from the ledge died via blunt force trauma.

San Diego police have not made a public statement on the tragedy.

Laurel McFarlane said: "Just this beautiful person, who had this incredible life ahead of them, is gone - in such a tragic way. She had so much more to give.

"She was fiercely loyal to people who were loyal to her. Every friend should have a Taylor."
