It's almost as if influencers want to get loads of attention. It's pretty much a tried and tested format; do something gravely offensive that annoys loads of people, do an oh-so-sincere apology video, gain more followers.

One Czech 'influencer' couple have filmed themselves using the holy water from a Hindu temple in Bali to splash it on the woman's bum. The stunt has caused outrage in Indonesia, where the spring water is used for ritual purification.

Czech couple Sabina Dolezalova and her boyfriend Zdenek Slouka filmed the clip at a Hindu temple in the town of Ubud on the Indonesian island of Bali and Dolezalova posted it onto social media, obviously hoping to get likes.

In the video, the couple can be seen standing together in front of a shrine of holy water in the temple when Slouka goes to put his hand under the running water.

His girlfriend then bends over and lifts up her skirt. Her boyfriend splashes the holy water on to her bum as she screams playfully.

Not only is this just simply a bit of a weird thing to do, but the video has received a torrent of criticism from Indonesians. Known to be a conservative country, where the majority of tourists respect local customers, many locals were deeply offended by their actions at the holy site.

Local designer Niluh Djelantik called for Bali to become more 'selective' in the tourists who visit the destination after watching the clip.

The Czech pair then uploaded the classic apology video, saying sorry for their actions on social media after receiving criticism from both locals and people from around the world who found it disrespectful.

In the clip, the boyfriend says: "Hey, we are so sorry about the video from yesterday. We dishonoured the holy temple and holy water in Ubud and we didn't know it, so we are so sorry about what happened."

His girlfriend then says: "Because we had no idea that was some holy water or that there is a holy temple. We really didn't want to do anything bad, we are so truly sorry. We hope you are going to forgive us and now we are just finding what we can do to fix it."

It's not known if the video was reported to the authorities or if they have taken action against the couple.
