The wife of an army veteran who was brutally attacked during a wrestling match has hit out at the 'unscripted assault'.
Wrestler Stuart 'Syko Stu' Smith is currently in critical care in hospital following the attack on 23 August, which rendered him unconscious and left him 'choking on blood and teeth'.
The attacker was Raja Jackson, a 25-year-old MMA fighter and son of former UFC champ Quinton 'Rampage' Jackson.
Disturbing footage filmed as part of a livestream on Jackson's Kick account shows the moment he stormed the ring at Knokx Pro Wrestling's show in Los Angeles, California, following an earlier altercation outside.

Syko Stu is said to have thrown a can at Jackson's head with the intention of setting up a storyline for a fight, before realising the 25-year-old wasn't in the wrestling business and apologising profusely.

Despite the pair appearing to have made up, Jackson announced on livestream that he was 'really going to hit him', before jumping in the ring and slamming Syko Stu off the mat and hitting him more than 20 times.
"I'm going to show him you can't just hit a can on my face. I'm really going to hit him. I'm telling you," he told his stream viewers.
"I'm dead serious, this s*** isn't going to be scripted. I know wrestling is scripted, I'm talking about what I'm going to do to the guy."

Now, Syko Stu's wife, Contessa Patterson, has spoken out following the violent incident, after sharing a GoFundMe page to help cover the costs of his recovery.
"I’m reaching out to get support for my husband, Stuart Smith, better known as SykoStu. On August 23 he was involved in an unscripted assault that has left him in the hospital with intense recovery needed to regain good health," she wrote.
"Stuart Smith is a US Army veteran who used wrestling as an outlet to deal with his PTSD, this incident has not only caused major physical harm, but will also disrupt his career inside the ring and outside of it."

Patterson went on to say that any money raised would go towards uncovered medical expenses, recovery support and covering loss of income.
Police have since confirmed they will be investigating the incident, however, no arrests have been made.
Jackson's father Rampage says he doesn't condone his son's actions and said he 'had no business involved in an event like this'.
