iPhone users seriously disappointed as update causes ‘horrendous’ battery drain

Apple users with the iPhone 15 or even just those who have updated to iOS 17 seem to be having problems

It’s that time of year again. For those lucky enough have bagged themselves the latest iPhone, the new iOS update should be a breeze. Meanwhile, the rest of us are trying to clear storage on our ageing devices to download the software update.

But Apple’s recent iOS 17 hasn’t exactly gone down a hit with all users. There seems to have been the odd few teething problems, that’s for sure.

From a ‘logo of death’ to overheating issues, iPhone 15 users are having a bumpy ride thus far, but this update will impact the rest of us too.

Some of those with iOS 17 are now complaining of a ‘horrendous’ battery drain.

And to be honest, it’s all putting me off bothering with the update at the moment.

Not affiliated with the tech company, ‘Apple Hub’ on X asked users: “Have you experienced battery drain in iOS 17?”

A lot of users certainly aren't happy.

In less than 24 hours, the post has already been flooded with other 2,500 responses – with both iPhone 15 and older users having mixed experiences.

One wrote: “Seriously I have many concerns about battery drain.”

Another also compared their new iPhone to an older model, writing: “I charged my iPhone 14 Pro Max once a day, no problems. Sometimes I came home at 10%.

Have you been having battery problems?

“Now?! My 15 Pro needs to be recharged at 35% at noon, 5 and when I go to bed.

"Disappointed, to say the least. The rest of the phone is awesome though.”

Others also wrote: “The @Apple iPhone 15 Pro battery life is horrendous,” and, “iPhone 15 pro max battery life is horrendous! @Apple what have you done?!”

Some are also reporting a decline in battery health.

Plus, some users who have done the new update have reported the ‘Maximum Capacity’ on their phone’s battery health decreasing.

One angry iPhone user wrote: "@Apple your latest iOS 17 update is s***. My iPhone 14 Pro battery now drains within 2 hours and the maximum capacity has fallen to 92%.

"Fix this issue as a lot of people are facing this."

However, it’s not the same experience for everyone, one user wrote: “Better than iOS 16 ever was. If anything, my battery has been great.”

Another put: “I’ve been getting excellent battery life on my iPhone 15 Pro Max.”

And one said: “I did for the first few days but it seems to have settled down now.”

Apple's official website boasts a 'battery life that’s positively Pro' with the new models, adding: "Even with so many advanced new features, iPhone 15 Pro still gives you amazing all‑day battery life."

LADbible has contacted Apple for comment.
