90s Kids Horrified After Realising The Age Of Parents From Rugrats

The ages of Stu, Didi, Drew and Charlotte have sent people spiralling

If you were born in the 90s, you most likely grew up in the golden age of cartoons. We had Recess, we had early Simpsons - and we had the Rugrats.

But if you are entering, or well settled into, your 30s now, you will most likely be shocked and disgusted to learn the parents of the Rugrats toddlers are actually your age.

That's right, people have worked out the ages of those grey-haired, mature, fully fledged adults, and the findings are grim.

As worked out by Screen Rant, the ages of all the Rugrats parents have mostly been confirmed.

For example, Didi Pickles (Tommy's mum) was born in 1959 - making her just 32 in the first episode. This was worked out by starting at the year of her junior prom.

The prom was mentioned in the Rugrats episode Junior Prom - it was Bicentennial themed, which was in 1976.

Stu, Tommy's father, is also in his early 30s. In the 1993 episode 'The Legend of Satchmo', Grandpa said Stu is 35, which means he was 33 when the show started.

Drew Pickles, Stu's older brother and Angelica's dad, must be about the same age. This is because in the episode 'Tommy's First Birthday', the line 'we were eight' would suggest their birthdays overlap, making Drew 33 or 34.

Other characters ages aren't referenced directly in the series, but are listed online. Drew's wife Charlotte is down as being 34 in the first episode, while Susie Carmichael's parents Lucy and Randy are both 36. Meanwhile, Chuckie Finster's dad Chas is 34.

Phil and Lil DeVille's parents Betty and Howie are 33 and 32 respectively in the show's opener.

Predictably, millennials aren't overjoyed at the prospect of being the same age as the 'old people'.

And if that isn't bad enough, wait until you find out how old Homer Simpson is...
