A mugger who stole a rare erotic watch worth £692,000 ($924,096) has been jailed for nine years, having snatched the pricey and explicit accessory as its owner left a Selfridges store in London.

Mehdi Didda, 35, pounced on Ngoc Cao as he left the department store with his wife - stealing the RM 69 Tourbillon Erotic watch from his wrist.

The watch, made by luxury watchmaker Richard Mille, is one of just 30 created, and spells out sexual messages that can be changed by manually rotating three bars.

Rapper Drake is also one of the lucky few to own the watch, which costs nearly £700,000, having shown his off on Instagram, writing: "Even the watch is poetic."

He went for 'I want to caress you tonight' as his message, but other options include - brace yourself - 'I long to devour your nipples' and 'I need to taste you tonight'.

Didda, of Wandsworth in south London, had been in a gang that targeted wealthy people for their timepieces.

They would identify targets at high-end stores in central London, watching them for a period of time before robbing them.

Didda was convicted of conspiracy to rob, handling stolen goods and possessing criminal property, while his accomplice Mohamed Safri, 36, was convicted of conspiracy to rob, but cleared of conspiracy to handle stolen goods.

Safri was handed eight years, with both Algerian nationals facing deportation after their sentences.

Didda's brother Sofiane, 47, was cleared of possessing criminal property and handling stolen goods.

The limited run of 30 RM 69 Manual Winding Tourbillon Erotic watches was released back in 2015, each featuring three rotating bars engraved with words or parts of a phrase to let the wearer compose an erotic message.

"Erotic timepieces are part of watchmaking history," the Richard Mille website says.

Richard Mille

"Designers of yore played with the theme of libertinism by mechanically recreating suggestive scenes.

"Because they broke with conservative moral, religious and political customs, these objects were often banned and confiscated. But like all forbidden love, their pleasure was enjoyed away from prying eyes. Thus by concealing the complications at the heart of watches in question, certain models have survived to this day.

"On the RM 69, however, love and eroticism proclaim themselves proudly and clearly in words. Far from scenes brought to life by automatons, this creation plays on the desire to openly express passion, sensuality and even sexuality."

I mean, it's a pretty expensive way to tell someone you want to devour their nipples, but each to their own.
