Coffee shop gives incredible response to customer who gave two star review for no dog policy

Happy Bunnies, in Staffordshire, had a few words for the ridiculously harsh reviewer.

If you think the customers in a coffee shop by the name of 'Happy Bunnies' would all be in high spirits, you'd sadly be mistaken - and if you presume they all like little fluffy things, you're downright wrong.

One disgruntled customer who visited the cute cafe in Longton, Staffordshire, made his feelings quite clear when he left a two star review because of its pet policy.

A bloke named Paul took to Tripadvisor earlier this month after visiting Happy Bunnies to give other people the lowdown on the food, atmosphere, price and any other opinions he had to share.

The overall message was positive, but there was one huge factor which but a big dampener on his experience.

He explained he had been toying with what to write because his mind was swirling with 'mixed thoughts' about the place after his visit two weeks ago because the cafe are happy to host furry friends.

The review read: "Really nice food but dogs are allowed in - not for me! Mixed thoughts on this review and establishment. The food was lovely and looked better than I thought it would.

Paul wasn't impressed that pooches were allowed in the cafe too.

"Decor was lovely and the staff were helpful, polite and happy.... The festive sandwich with turkey and Brie was great.

"All of us were happy and then I saw a dog in the place! For me, dogs do NOT belong anywhere near a food eating place, not at all..."

Despite ticking all the important boxes, Paul couldn't get past the fact that Happy Bunnies are willing to let pooches in.

Well, the cafe spotted his anti-canine comments and two star rating on Tripadvisor, so shared its own personal response to his critiques on its Facebook page.

Happy Bunnies wrote: "We didn't quite hit the mark with Paul. We have always been dog friendly and we love meeting your furry family members. Least the food looked better than he thought! Sorry Paul, but we are definitely still dog friendly."

The eatery then shared another follow up post to clear up any more confusion - .and even though it sounds like I've wrote it with all the dad jokes, I swear I didn't have a part in it.

It read: "Following on from Paul v Paw we thought we would 'take the lead' and clear a few things up as it seems some were 'barking up the wrong tree'.

"The reason we shared the review was because we were only given 2 stars despite us knocking it 'out of the park', purely based on the fact we allow dogs in.

"Naturally, we embrace that people are entitled to their own opinion which is 'fur' enough. We just felt it was a bit 'ruff'.

"These reviews can be detrimental to a small business and can 'give a dog a bad name'. The review was left on a public platform for 'every man & his dog' to read and was posted in a light hearted manner.

The cafe reminded customers that they've always been dog-friendly.

"We have always been dog friendly & have advertised this fact plus we have a sign outside the shop so 'throw us a bone' here! On a 'pawsitive' note, it got you talking. Just remember to be kind to each other.

"Thank you to those who supported us we continue to welcome your fur babies. Bone Appetit, Yappy Bunnies!"

Social media users lapped it up and praised Happy Bunnies for their light-hearted response to the review.

One said: "I can’t wait to come and visit and bring my fur baby, I didn’t know you were dog friendly but thanks to Paul’s review now I do!" while another joked: "Pawfectly put."
