Hardest Geezer hints at next challenge which will 'push the limits' after running length of Africa

Russ Cook is already thinking about his next extraordinary challenge

It's only been a mere few days since Russ Cook finished running the entire length of Africa, but he's already got his sights set on his next big challenge.

The 27-year-old, better known as the Hardest Geezer, made history on 7 April after completing his extraordinary 16,000km+ journey - which took him through 16 different countries - and crossing the finishing line in Tunisia.

Hundreds of people flew out to cheer him on as he wrapped up his incredible run, which helped him raise more than £870,000 for charity as well as proving that he can live up to his nickname.

Being robbed at gunpoint, visa issues and food poisoning couldn't keep this lad from putting one foot in front of the other and he finally finished his gruelling journey 352 days after setting off from the southern tip of South Africa in April 2023.

Smooching his girlfriend and supping a strawberry daiquiri were at the top of Russ' priority list when he completed the historic expedition, before he then celebrated his achievement with a lavish pool party at a swanky hotel.

But arguably one of the most impressive rewards he has received for doing what no man has ever done before is the Greggs 'Gold Collection' box he got given live on Good Morning Britain earlier today (10 April).

Hosts Kate Garraway and Ed Balls got the lowdown on what Russ has been up to since he touched back down on UK soil, as well as finding out whether he had satisfied the sausage roll craving which tormented him during his trek across Africa.

The Hardest Geezer revealed he had polished off a 'sausage roll, double cheeseburger, pizza and ice cream all in one go' after he landed back in London.

Kate then whipped out a Greggs Gold Collection box, which was brimming with several pastries from the firm, and gifted it to Russ, who joked he was 'moving up in the world'.

The conversation then turned to what the Hardest Geezer would be getting up to next, with Ed pointing out that the endurance athlete said running from 'North to South America was too easy' and 'wasn't tough enough'.

Russ responded: "I'm not sure 100 percent what will be next, but, you know.

"Adventuring is always going to be big part of my life and we will be looking to push the limits even further next time."

The presenters then urged the runner to give them a hint about his plans for the future, but the Brit kept tight-lipped about the exact details of what his sights are set on next.

Russ continued: "I don't want to give my cards away too early. Around the world's a difficult one, but a few people have said they've done round the world... but it's not a sea."

He joked that he didn't think it counts as he 'isn't Jesus' and 'can't run on water' - while Kate suggested he could 'keep running while on a ship'.

Whatever Russ does next, I'm sure it will be ridiculously impressive.
