Should things ever get worse between the UK and Russia then there's apparently 23 places in the country you definitely don't want to be.
You may have noticed that the Russians are not big fans of the British at the moment, largely because their inept attempt at conquering Ukraine in three days is currently lasting longer than four years without an end in sight and the UK has supplied aid to Ukraine.
Russia seems to think it horribly unfair that they can't invade countries without other parts of the world finding this objectionable, as many nations have supplied munitions to Ukraine in an effort to help them resist the Russian invasion.
Vladimir Putin's propaganda merchants are desperate to portray their country in a strong position, so from time to time they mouth off about the various European countries they could target for a strike, and the UK is often top of the list.
Advert
Former deputy prime minister Dmitry Rogozin claimed he had a list of 23 sites Russia would want to attack in the event of an actual war with the UK, and it turns out they're all from the UK government’s 'Defence Industrial Strategy 2025' paper.

Something all of the locations have in common is that they have ties to the UK's defence and armaments industry.
The logic being that by targeting these places it'd reduce the UK's ability to make weapons, whether that be for Ukraine or for itself.
Of course if the situation between Russia and the UK was at a point where they were firing missiles at the likes of Edinburgh, Belfast and Glasgow then that's not just war with the UK, that's war with NATO.
In effect, Russia would be having to fight off most of Europe, and since they're already struggling to take Ukraine that's a conflict that's unlikely to go well for them.
Unfortunately for everyone, that would mean war between countries with nuclear weapons which is an escalation nobody really wants.
