A woman has revealed she once found out her boyfriend had been cheating on her after receiving a notification from his Fitbit - telling her he'd burned 500 calories in the middle of the night.

Nadia Essex, who rose to fame as an expert on Celebs Go Dating, shared a TikTok video recalling the time a smart watch helped her find out a former partner had been unfaithful.

Essex, 39, responded to another TikToker, who'd posed the topic: "Stitch with the moment you knew your relationship was over."

In Essex's video, she explained her boyfriend had come home from a night out, and she'd received an unusual notification from his Fitbit, having previously synced their devices.

The dating expert said: "Oh honey, I've got a doozie.

"So when my ex-boyfriend came home from a night out, I woke up in the morning and thought, 'Let me make some breakfast'.

"And I got a notification on my Fitbit - the Fitbit that we'd synced together - that between 2 o'clock and 3 o'clock in the morning, last morning, he had burned over 500 calories."

While Essex didn't explicitly say what the strange calorie burn entailed, she confirmed our suspicions by smiling to the camera and saying: "I shoved that breakfast where the sun don't shine, darling."

Her video has since racked up more than 446,000 views and 48,000 likes, along with hundreds of comments showing support to Essex, referring to her as a 'queen'.

One person said: "That is the best, but defo worst, story. You're so much better without him."

Another commented: "Well at least you found out. Who knows how long it would've carried on for it you hadn't!"

Some others tried to give her ex the benefit of the doubt, with one saying: "I was about to say he could have been dancing in a club but if you knew what he was really doing..."

Replying with a couple of crying-with-laughter emojis, Essex then said: "He wishes that was what is was."

Many others said it's inspired them to go out and buy a Fitbit, with one writing: "I've been in two minds about getting a Fitbit, guess who's on her way to get one ASAP."
