It appears Elon Musk has has a massive change of heart as he revealed he regrets the public breakdown of his and Donald Trump's relationship.
In the not-so-distant past, the US leader and billionaire businessman were inseparable, appearing at campaign rallies together, doing car commercials on the White House lawn and, in Musk's case, doing unfortunate arm gestures at the presidential inauguration.
However the pair's friendship well and truly crashed and burned last week when Musk resigned from his special government employee role and called Trump's 'big beautiful bill' a 'disgusting abomination'.

Not content with only insulting the bill, the Tesla boss fired up his Twitter account and claimed he was responsible for the Republicans winning the election.
He then followed the accusations up with a 'really big bomb', claiming the reason why Trump hadn't released the Jeffrey Epstein files was because he's included in the list.
“Time to drop the really big bomb: @realDonaldTrump is in the Epstein files. That is the real reason they have not been made public," he said. "Have a nice day, DJT!"
The post has since been removed from his account.

Now you'd imagine it's pretty hard - if not impossible - to recover a friendship with someone after you publicly suggested they were involved with a sex offender.
But it seems like the 53-year-old is giving it his best shot.
Taking to Twitter earlier today, Musk shared an apology of sorts, writing: "I regret some of my posts about President @realDonaldTrump last week. They went too far."

Musk didn't specify which of his above claims he regretted; however the U-turn follows the billionaire retweeting posts in support of the government's response to the ongoing unrest taking place in Los Angeles, which included resharing screenshots from Trump's Truth Social account.
Trump is yet to respond publicly to Musk's apology of sorts, however the 78-year-old had previously suggested this was the end of the relationship with his former 'First Buddy'.
When asked if he would be open to working things out with Musk, the president responded with a firm 'no', before adding to NBC that he assumes this was the end for the pair.
"I think it’s a very bad thing, because he’s very disrespectful," he continued. "You could not disrespect the office of the president."

Trump also brushed off the claims that he was linked to Epstein, calling the allegations 'old news'.
"That’s called ‘old news,’ that’s been old news, that has been talked about for years," he said on Saturday (7 June). "Even Epstein’s lawyer said I had nothing to do with it. It’s old news."
Looks like you might have a bit more grovelling to do, Elon.
