Erika Kirk shares 'ultimate blessing' final wish when she learned husband Charlie died

Erika Kirk said she had a final wish for the ‘ultimate blessing’ when she found out her husband had died.

Charlie Kirk was shot and killed on 10 September with Tyler Robinson arrested on suspicion of murder two days later.

The far-right political ‘activist’ was at an event at Utah Valley University, as part of The American Comeback Tour. A prominent Donald Trump ally, the 31-year-old was shot while on stage in the open-air.

Following her husband’s death, Erika gave an address from Turning Point USA’s (the organisation co-founded by Kirk) headquarters as she pledged: “My husband’s voice will remain.”

Thanking responders and telling Trump how Kirk ‘loved’ him, she added: “But most of all, Charlie loved his children. And he loved me. With all his heart. And he made sure I knew that every day.”

And Erika has now revealed that when Kirk was shot, she had been ‘praying to God’ that she was pregnant.

The controversial campaigner was dad to a three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son, with Erika previously revealing their daughter ‘continues to ask’ where her dad is.

Speaking with Megyn Kelly during a on-stage interview on Friday (20 November), the mother said the pair had ‘wanted to have four’ kids.

“And I was praying to God that I was pregnant when he got murdered,” Erika added.

Kelly said: “Oh, wow. I thought of that once, whether it was meant to be or whether we’d get news like that.”

And Erika continued: “I was like, ‘Oh, goodness, that was going to be the ultimate blessing out of this catastrophe’. So, now when I see young couples, I tell them, ‘Please, don’t put it off.’ Especially if you’re a young woman.”

She doubled down in her message that women can ‘always have a career’ and always ‘go back to work’ after having kids.

“You can never just go back to having children,” Erika continued.

“And they grow so fast and so quickly, but I just, I was praying. Both of us were. We were just excited to just expand our family.”

Expressing her gratitude for having the kids she does have, the host told her: “One day, they’ll find out. Right now they’re just little loves. But one day they’ll find out that they’re Charlie Kirk’s children and they’ll know what that means.”

Erika previously revealed she had told her daughter that Kirk was on ‘a work trip with Jesus’ in order to ‘afford your blueberry budget’.
