A hospital hall was lined with students and members of the local community after a high school student was shot at a party.
Kimber Mills, 18, was one of four people who were victims of a shooting which took place close to a highway near Palmerdale, Alabama, on Saturday 18 October.
The American student was in hospital for days following the tragic incident but on Tuesday, she was taken off life support and given an honour walk through UAB Hospital while heading into surgery to become an organ donor.
Doctors declared the student brain dead following the shooting but as she was taken to the surgical suite, the halls of the hospital were filled with those paying their final respects to the young cheerleader.

A video of the heartfelt moment was shared on social media, making headlines as the lines of people paying tribute to the teen seemed to never end, with many tears being shed.

Kimber could be seen laying in her hospital bed surrounded by soft toys and her loved ones, as her family was told that the injuries she had sustained from the shooting were so severe that she would not survive after suffering gunshot wounds to both the head and leg on that fateful night.
The family said that over 100 people showed up, with her sister, Ashley, telling the Daily Mail that her heart had gone to a seven-year-old boy in Ohio, while her lungs were going to a woman in New York.
She said that they felt 'grateful' she can live on as 'she loved everyone', noting the impact she had on people's lives.

"We shouldn't be burying our little sister," Ashley said at a vigil held at the high school on Monday, adding: "It should be the other way around. It's supposed to go from oldest to youngest not youngest first."
Kimber wanted to 'be a nurse' according to her sister, as she loved to help people, noting that she was trying to help people on that Saturday night.
According to the Jefferson County Sheriff's Office, Steven Tyler Whitehead, 27, was arrested after the shooting and charged with three counts of attempted murder.

It has been alleged that the group of teens were shot after a fight broke out, with the Mills family claiming she did not know Whitehead.

Ashley spoke to WBRC, claiming: "He was trying to hit on a girl there and give her things that she didn't want," speaking about a spiked drink, adding: "We hope he gets what he deserves"
The shooting took place at a patch known as 'the pit', a private property where local teenagers hang out and listen to music.
Silas McCay, 21, was one of those who was also shot at the party, and managed to walk behind Kimber as she was wheeled through the hospital, according to his brother Shane.

Speaking to CBS, he described it as 'emotional', adding: "As soon as she turned that corner, the whole hallway was crying. You can tell she was really loved by the whole community."
Silas was 'shot ten times' according to his brother, though he is miraculously out of bed and walking already. Another shooting victim remains in hospital.
A GoFundMe page which was set up to raise moeny for Kimber is said to be used to help the other victims as well.
