A man who survived being cut in half by a forklift has explained what he misses most about his life before the accident.
Loren Schauers was a construction worker who back in 2019 suffered life changing injuries when the forklift he was driving veered off course and dropped off a bridge.
Falling 50ft, Loren's injuries were so severe that he had to have everything below the waist amputated, and also lost part of his right arm.
Since then he's been documenting his life on social media alongside his wife Sabia whom he married in 2021, and recently he spoke about the thing he missed most from before the accident.

Speaking to the Daily Mail, Loren said that above everything else he misses driving most, explaining: "The biggest thing I miss is being able to just hop in my truck that has a clutch and drive!
"Vehicles and driving around were and are one of my biggest loves outta life, so losing that has to be one of the biggest things I miss."

He explained that before the accident he and Sabia had planned to buy a campervan and travel around.
Loren said they planned to travel around Montana and live near whichever construction job he had next, but he admitted that since the accident he can't do physical labour so that dream has been and gone.
He explained that while he'd previously released videos documenting his life after the accident, his channel 'isn't doing too good anymore' and reckons that the updates on his life were getting 'stale'.

Now he's looking at turning his online following into something which allows him to make money from gaming and also reckons he could make YouTube videos where he's 'reviewing businesses and places handicap accessibility', while he's also looking into some better prosthetics.
He said: "Our current goal is just to get me set up with proper prosthetics, equipment, and technology that provides the help for day to day independence I need and am looking for."
Loren is aiming to get a body prosthetic which he can put on independently and is more suitable for his body, explaining that his independence currently relies on caregivers helping him into his prosthetic.

He's also spoken about the possibility that he and Sabia might start a family, but unfortunately he said he doesn't 'really see it in the cards for us'.
“Unless we really buckle down, start saving and planning for a future with kids, having a caregiver in place of Sabia for my care and then taking care of kids," he explained.
"With all the extracurricular activities that come with raising children, it really wouldn't be fair of us to bring a child or adopt a child in life and saddle them with a lifestyle like ours, just not conducive for raising children in my opinion."
