Loren Schauers, a man who was cut in half by a forklift in an accident several years ago, has explained what sort of impact it has on his sex life with his wife Sabia.
The Montana man had been driving a forklift across a bridge in September 2019 when it went off course and he plummeted 50 feet to the ground.
In order to save his life doctors amputated everything below Loren's waist along with his right forearm, and since then he and his wife Sabia have been documenting their life together.
They're appearing in a new documentary episode of the TLC show One Day in My Body which airs today (15 April) in which Loren shows how he lives his life following the accident.

Speaking to the New York Post about his life, Loren tackled one of the questions he gets asked most, which is about how his sex life works.

"When it comes to intimacy, we’re not different than any other regular couple," he explained.
"I might not have all the parts that I need, but it doesn’t change how we’re intimate with one another or how we love one another or how we show affection to one another."
It's a very common question and one the couple isn't going to go into more detail about as Sabia said it was a 'very personal question' and you 'wouldn’t ask a random couple on the street how they have sex'.
Loren said that 'one of the hardest' things for him was coming to terms with being told that he wouldn't be able to father children.
He had said that he'd like to have a family with Sabia whether through adoption or using a donor, but the demands of his care made it unlikely for the couple.
They married in 2021 and Loren said unless they were able to save up money and get a caregiver to take on the responsibilities Sabia had looking after him then it probably wasn't going to happen.

As for why he decided to go on the show, he said: "I wanted to be featured on One Day in My Body in order to help show others in similar situations to me and the others on the show that you can still live a full life even if you’ve been through something painful and terrible.
"I feel like it’s very important to show both the good and bad of life with a disability."
While Loren has managed to adapt to losing much of his body he does still face a series of health problems, as while he was on One Day in My Body he was dealing with a kidney infection.
Sabia said she feared them reaching a point where Loren became 'resistant to all of the antibiotics' and could suffer from kidney failure as a result.
Loren said he's hoping he'll live to 80, and they were working on a 'few things to improve my independence'.
