US officials have revealed the injuries which the ICE agent responsible for shooting Renee Good is said to have suffered during the confrontation.
The 7 January shooting of US citizen Renee Good by ICE agent Jonathan Ross has led to widespread outrage and demonstrations across America, as tensions over Donald Trump's immigration policies intensify.
Mother-of-three Renee was driving through a neighbourhood of Minneapolis when she encountered a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent.
The reason for Renee and her wife engaging in confrontation with the agents is unclear, but several reports have alleged the 37-year-old had been acting as a legal observer of ICE activities in the area at the time.
Cellphone footage, obtained by Alpha News, shows the incident in full:
Ross claimed he'd fired at Renee in self-defence, alleging that she'd attempted to run him over with her car.
His claims have been backed up by a US Department of Homeland Security spokesperson, who branded Renee's actions an 'act of domestic terrorism'.
However, this version of events has been widely disputed, with Minneapolis Mayor Jacob Frey calling the comments 'bulls**t'.
Government officials have since doubled down on their claims that Ross acted out of fear for his life, now revealing that the US veteran had suffered injuries from the encounter.
The DHS confirmed that Ross suffered internal injuries, described as internal bleeding to the torso, after the confrontation. However, it is currently not clear how extensive the injuries to Ross' torso were.
The latest update follows comments from DHS State Secretary Kristi Noem, who said that Ross had been taken to hospital on 7 January.
It is believed he was discharged on the same day.

Meanwhile, an attorney representing Renee's widow and family has since said her relatives are 'really burdened by grief' in a recent update.
"It's a message of 'united,'" Antonio Romanucci said in a statement, confirming that Renee's family were pursuing their own separate investigation into her killing.
"We will gather our evidence as best we can, and we will do this ourselves. We would hope to have cooperation, right? That's something that we all hope to do," he added.
"Let's cooperate to find the truth, and then we accept the truth. But until we have that cooperation, we have to run independently."
