82-Year-Old Bodybuilding Grandma Beats Up 29-Year-Old Burglar With A Table

82-Year-Old Bodybuilding Grandma Beats Up 29-Year-Old Burglar With A Table

An 82-year-old grandmother - who also happens to be an award winning bodybuilder - has told the story of how she confronted a burglar more than half her age and absolutely battered him.

Here she is, describing her ordeal to a local TV station. It's worth the entry fee, that's for sure.

Willie Murphy said that the 28-year-old thief broke into her home in New York state at about 11pm on Tuesday evening, but ended up leaving in an ambulance after Murphy whacked him around the head with a table.

She might only be five feet tall and weigh just 105lbs, but she can deadlift 225lbs, and simply had too much in her locker for this hapless burglar.

He'd showed up at the door and tried to convince her to let him in as he was sick. He soon would be.

After refusing him entry because she wasn't falling for his schtick, Murphy decided that she'd had enough.

In an interview after the incident, she said: "I'm alone and I'm old, but guess what? I'm tough."

That's certainly true.

As well as cracking the table on the guy, she hit him with a broomstick and smothered him in shampoo when he tried to encroach onto her property.

Oh, and once the table broke, she battered him with the metal legs for good measure.

She'd already alerted the cops, but she also utilised some of the things within reach in her house to really teach the guy a lesson.

She explained to Fox News: "I hear a loud noise.

"I'm thinking, what the heck was that? The young man is in my home. He broke the door. I picked up the table, and I went to work on him. The table broke.

"And when he's down. I'm jumping on him. I grabbed the shampoo. Guess what? He's still on the ground. In his face, all of it, the whole thing. I got the broom. He's pulling the broom.

"I'm hitting him with the broom.

"He picked the wrong house to break into."

Bloody hell, that's an understatement.

Murphy has since received a hero's welcome back at her gym, at the Maplewood YMCA, where she trains regularly.

Apparently even the first responders who arrived wanted to get a picture with her.

She's already something of a local celebrity due to her bodybuilding and feats of strength.

After starting to lift a few years back with small weights, she can now lift twice her body weight and has huge arm muscles and abs that would put anyone younger to shame.

In 2014, she won first place in her division at the World Natural Powerlifting Federation World Championships.

Her goal is to encourage older folks to stay in shape. She told CBS: "I'm old - If I can do it, get with it. I'm that new senior and I got it going on."
