More and more people are giving up booze as a way of improving their health and one father-of-two has reaped the benefits after avoiding alcohol for a whole six months.
Despite all the various warnings about drinking beer on a regular basis, it's a habit that many people in this country in particular either can't, or don't want to, shake.
But in an increasingly-health obsessed population, it's no surprise that alcohol is one of the first things that people look to cut out, especially after trialling it during sober October or dry January.
Stopping drinking can lead to a whole host of benefits, with improved sleep one of the biggest factors that people notice, but for Tyler Buchanan, it led to an almost immediate physical and mental transformation.

Speaking to LADbible, he said: "I wanted to be the best version of myself for myself and my wife and kids. At first it started as a one year challenge to myself, but one year in and I never plan to drink again."

It's certainly left a lasting impression on Tyler, as he posted a TikTok which has now been seen over half a million times, showing off the six pack and abs that he's been able to gain over the past six months while being tee-total.
Of course, you're not likely to magically get abs just by giving up alcohol, but it obviously proved to be a huge factor for the father-of-two, as it gave him the motivation to exercise more.
The first changes he noticed were significantly improved sleep, energy and motivation to be active, as he suggested that the 'positive effects' were extremely clear just a few weeks after starting his challenge.
He added: "Obviously cutting out all those empty calories from alcohol made a big difference, but equally as impactful was the immediate increase in motivation to be active, workout, and make healthier eating choices. I am no longer doing late night alcohol induced food and snack binges, and once I started seeing a physical change I became even more motivated to make healthier dietary choices."

Even though Tyler and his family were all surprised by his sudden and impressive transformation, the biggest surprise for the 34-year-old was how little he ended up missing booze.
He said: "The biggest surprise over the last six months was how little I miss alcohol. I thought the biggest challenge would be the feeling that I’m missing out during social events where I normally would be drinking, but that has not been the case at all.
"Every event I’ve attended has non-alcoholic options and I have not once felt that I’ve missed out on social experiences since quitting, if anything I am always happy the next morning that I did not drink because I wake up feeling great."
With a crazy transformation like this one, it's no surprise that so many people are tempted to give up alcohol for good.
