Cheating on a partner is sadly more common than you might think, but it's nothing compared to the number of people who do it while they're dreaming.
As much as you might think your partner is perfect for you, we've all got celebrity crushes, and sometimes the brain treats us to a particularly passionate dream featuring your favourite faces from the world of Hollywood.
While you might debate ever admitting this to your other half, they're probably having similar sorts of dreams, and as long as they're not doing it while they're awake, there's probably no real issue.
The world of sleep really can take you anywhere, and while we may never know the true meaning of some of the stranger ones, bed retailer Dreams has provided an explanation as to why we might cheat on our partners in the land of nod, even if things are perfect between you.

It begins: "While extremely uncomfortable and worrisome, dreams about cheating don't typically mean you are doubting your relationship."

"Instead," Dreams continues, "they are usually a signal that you are missing something else in your life."
The company also divided the type of cheating dream into four different categories, including cheating with a stranger, an ex, a person from your life and a celebrity.
According to the company, dreams of cheating with a stranger can indicate one's own feelings of guilt.
"Dreams of cheating with a stranger are often indicative of a feeling of neglect or of guilt about neglecting," the retailer explains.

When it comes to your ex, the retailer suggests that they may have something that your new relationship lacks, rather than you still having feelings for an old flame.
Things differ again when it comes to a person from your life, with Dreams suggesting: "Whether it’s an acquaintance or someone you’re close to, it’s worth bearing in mind that the person usually represents something other than themselves.
"The dream is likely to be about something they represent to you, from closeness to one partner but not the other, to financial security or stability."
Dreams also suggest that your nighttime affairs with a celeb like Emma Stone or Jonathan Bailey might be because their 'philanthropy' makes you feel like you should be doing more for charity.
