Say goodbye to 'the one' and hello to long life.

When anyone gets past the age of 100, everyone wants to know how the hell they made it to three figures.

These centenarians often say a glass of water every day or no red meat or find a reason to smile as their reason why they've survived for so long.

However, one American woman has been savage about the reason behind her long life.

While she was celebrating her 107th birthday in the Bronx, New York City, Louise Jean Signore was asked to give out her secret and it certainly doesn't bode well for a lot of people.

"I think the secret of 107: I never got married. I think that's the secret,' Signore told CBS. 'My sister says 'I wish I never got married."

Sorry to all you couples who got hitched, seems like you're not going to enjoy the fruits that Louise has.

More than 100 people turned out to celebrate Ms Signore's big day; even her 102-year-old sister. There must be some bloody good genes in that family.

Incredibly, even at Louise's age, she doesn't take any serious medicine (except for one blood pressure pill each day), doesn't use a wheelchair or a cane and still does all her shopping. God, some people half her age can't claim that.

But the centenarian didn't just focus on staying away from men as her elixir for long life.

"Italian food. Italian food is very good for you. I was brought up with very good food. No soda, no cake," she said.

Speaking about her day-to-day tasks, Louise said she just tries to keep physically and mentally active.

"If they have exercise, I do the exercise. If they have dancing, I dance. I still a do a little dancing. After my lunch, I will play bingo, so I had a full day," she told WCBS.

She was the victim of a savage attack and robbery four years ago at the tender age of 103. According to the New York Post, Louise was knocked to the ground and had $35 stolen from her along with two meals, a magnifying glass and some bingo cards.

That type of incident could knock anyone's confidence, however the 107-year-old just cracked on with life.

"I'm going to go out. I'm in good shape," she said.

So let that be a lesson to some of you going out searching for 'the one'; he or she might bring you happiness but long life could be found in the single life.
