Man divides opinion after admitting he kicked the chair of passenger who stole his seat 'every two minutes'

A man has attempted to justify kicking the chair of a plane passenger who stole his pre-paid seat.

The angry lad says despite pre-booking his seat, one woman quite simply refused to budge.

Travelling to meet up with his best mate in California, he claims to have purchased a ticket for aisle seat number 23C from Florida.

When getting aboard the flight, he noticed that a 'twenty-something woman' had already nicked his spot.

Taking to Reddit, user u/Smolame claims he politely explained to the woman that: "Hey sorry you are probably in the wrong seat."

After showing his ticket, he was met with 'an eye roll that could have sounded like she was playing Yahtzee'.

The woman replies: "Oh I'm 24C."

"I look at 24C right behind her and see why she took my seat," the disgruntled Redditor continues.

"There is a 300-400lb (f) sitting in the middle seat. I'm a 6'1 230lb (m) ... not ideal.

"After a 15 second stare down I say 'well?' and she says she is 'comfortable already' and 'not moving' and 'wants to sleep' blah blah."

The situation didn't end there, as he explains: "OK I see how it is... real dumb to put someone upset with you in the seat behind you...

"I proceeded to set a silent timer on my phone that went off every two minutes to remind myself to kick her seat, violently, and then every time the seat belt sign went off I'd get up, grabbing the top of the seat to lift myself up pulling her seat back and forth and one time (accidental but worth) pulled her hair she put over the back of the seat.

"Safe to say she had lots of extra 'turbulence' and got absolutely no sleep. There were MANY death stares and head turns.

"Each time I would just smile and wave. I knew she wouldn't say anything either because she is not even supposed to be in that seat anyways. Happy travels."

Could he have dealt with the situation in a more civilised manner?

His antics have divided the crowd, with one user agreeing: "Yep. Im a big guy too so I wouldn’t fit in the other seat. And if she tried to f**k with me during the flight I’d have an 'accident' with my expensive alcoholic drink.

"Her hair wouldn’t recover without a shower. Hope she brought a hat!"

However, other Redditors thought there were other ways he could have dealt with the situation, as one person explained: "You should have had the flight crew move her ass to the seat she paid for."

Another added: "Right. The petty revenge isn’t worth it to me. What’s worth it is forcing her to sit in the seat she paid for, while I sit in the seat I paid for. End of story."
